The "Taco Truck"

Yeah I have a third row seat from a for mini van to mount for the kids to ride in.and it will be removable just have to figure out how to mount it. As of now all seats will only have lap belts.
I bought second row captains chairs for the driver and passenger from a saturn van but I think I'm just going to have the original seats reupholstered. They are Flexsteel brand(expensive) and very comfortable.
It's just a regular full size couch. We sleep in all kinds of crazy places all the time. Me and Ashley in bed and kids on couch or just me on the couch. Hell in our other camper me and the kids just sleep in the floor half the time and it will sleep six comfortably.
 
UPS delivered a new addition to the Taco Truck while I was gone to Windrock over the weekend.
It's a 3-in-1 breakfast cooker.
Coffee pot/ griddle/ toaster oven all in one. Can't wait to try it out

the last option is pretty cool. but im not a coffee drinker. wonder if i can get that with a mtn dew dispenser?
I have a buddy dn your way that can reupholster those seats. Im not sure what he charges now. we used to work together at an upholstery shop back in the 80s. whew,,,, thats been a few days. lol. can get u his # if u r going that route. Hes building a rat rod style jeep right now. you might be able to do some trading with him
 
The wife is the coffee drinker in our family. It's a four cup maker which is perfect for her.

Definitely get me that upholsters name and number! I'd much rather have the original flexsteel chairs than those things I bought.

Im sure he will be carrying 1 . this thing has huge storage space under the bed, and has a rear door to help cram everything in there.

With Kenneths mods this thing is turning into an awesome towing/camping machine. will have all of us looking for something similar to build something like it.
Ive looked at a couple 24ft U haul trucks thinking about this, but the 4-6 mpgs changed my mind.

Well we finally got to try out the "Taco Truck" for a weekend. Actually four days.
It was an awesome Easter weekend!! But any weekend camping with my family is awesome!
Everyone at the campground had to take the grand tour. They just thought it was so neat. Lol
The truck did great! The only problem was the thermostat on the electric side of the water heater apparently quit working so we just used the propane side.
I was actually more comfortable in this thing than the bigger camper. I think the whole family liked it pretty good. But the wife needs a couple more trips in it to get used to using the bath house again.
It's not 100% complete on the inside yet but was good enough to use. Can't wait to paint it on the outside but we're having a hard time coming up with a paint scheme. I don't see this project ever being completed. It will be like the jeep. It will always need upgrades.
Can't wait to use it again!
Hoping to make many more memories in this thing over the next few years.

Who said I needed to build bunk beds? Like I tell everyone we just sleep where ever we fall. The kids took turns sleeping in the front passenger seat. Lol. Never thought they would sleep there.

And the little 3-in-1 breakfast cooker is awesome. Was perfect for the four of us. And the wife says it makes great coffee. Great little investment.

Spring sprung, work got busy, baseball season and finishing the jeep has held me up a little on putting the final touches on this thing but I did get a few things done this week.

Finally got to install the DennyT #2 fuel pin and 3200rpm governor spring. This has made a huuuge difference. I talked to Dennis at DennyT and said 30hp and 50 ft. Lbs of torque on the conservative side. I think it was a little more than that. This thing is night and day.
The fuel pin is super easy but the governor spring was a dandy to install. But it was worth all seven hours labor.
I think next I will turn the fuel screw up a little bit.

Today I also straight piped it. I'm hoping removing the muffler will help keep my egts a little lower since I will be pulling heavy and lots of mountains.
My next project will be to install my egt gauge just to keep check in them..

You will also see in the pic that I had to install a u-pipe on the generator to get the exhaust out from under the camper. I also built a piece to turn the exhaust up for a stack to go above the camper but we ran out of tube so that pic will come Monday.

Ok I did it backwards. I shoulda installed my pyro gauge before any mods to get a base line. To late now. But did get it installed finally. Yes it's post turbo. Good or bad that's where its at. The instructions and advice Frome an awesome mechanic says it's fine. I just need to know really what the max egts I can run and for how long wit the probe post turbo.
I pulled the empty trailer today some and up hill I could git 1200 pretty easy WOT. Kinda concerning.
I'm going to pull the crawler to the tuners in the morning with it to see what happens.
Trying g to figure out what I can do to cool it down if I need to. I'm guessing bigger exhaust and possibly adding an inner cooler. I may just adjust the temps with my foot going up the mountains. What y'all think?
