The walking dead

Also, note that he is the only one that seems to both recognize what is going on AND willing to admit it.
Yeah, but he's sketchy as fuck, and a whiny addict worried about his precious pills. I've been around people like that and wasn't fond of it, and apparently I'm not real fond of watching it on tv either. Meh.

wait...so what you are saying is......

the disease was brought in over the border by illegal immigrants?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that yes. It was brought in by illegal immigrants TO El Salvador BY the U.S. Thus his distrust for the Americans and his unwillingness to be helped by anyone other than family.

Will be interesting to see the dynamic play out.

I will also go on record as saying that it will be a while before anyone other than the fat kid with the knife will acknowledge that they are actually zombies

you mean anyone besides the heroin addict...

I've never seen Gilbert Grape, but since y'all have mentioned it I noticed is on netflix. Is it worth a watch?

What really pisses me off is that only one dude knows how to use a gun in this show. Really?! Riots, zombies and general mass hysteria, I think having a gun and knowing how to use it would come in handy but they are being all objective about it.
They are from California - oh except that one dude...
A lot of people just grow up w/o exposure to guns or being taught "they are bad". Maybe this is a lesson on why that's a bad idea?

Good point, I didn't think of it like that. I guess they would have to play at the stereotypical Commiefornian.

Yeah.... it's got some funny parts. The mom getting in the car is hysterical... Reminds me of Honey Boo Boo.

One of our local sub-stations is airing old episodes.
Apparently the Walkers got dumber and less mobile over time? At least in the first two episodes, they are turning doorknobs and pretty dextrous, one even using a rock to break a window in the dept store, some actually running pretty fast after Rick and Glen, one climbed up and jumped a fence? wtf is that all about.

the zombies are rotting, so they will eventually die out. This will end the series and will leave it with them rebuilding afterwards.

except that whenever a person dies - new, fresh zombie.

I would have to imagine that the "fresher" a zombie is (closer to when he was alive), the less his flesh, muscle and bones would have atrophied. Sort of like how the principal (creepy guy at the high school with the big ears that listens to classes over the intercom) was pretty tough to kill even after repeated blows to the head with a fire extinguisher versus the zombies that Abraham Ford killed with a can of soup to the head.

I'm still wondering looking back over the seasons as to how when Rick was in the tank (first or second episode) and there were dead soldiers in the tank with him that did not appear to be dead of head shots, why they were not zombies.

So I agree w/ you - except that "fresh" zombies are always being made, as people continue to die. So you'd think even in the new episodes there would still be some that were pretty agile.

And yeah that tank scene bothered me too. Why was the soldier in the tank even dead? He seemed completely intact, no obvious blood like a shot or bite. And if it had given up and offed himself, surely it would have been a head shot and not been zombified.

I guess it'll be two hours of FTWD tonight, if I can stay awake. Fell asleep last week and missed 80% of the episode.

Season opener seemed pretty good, except again - some zombies seem a lot more agile than others. Like when they are herding them in the Million Zombie March behind the Buell/Buick Roadmaster motorcade, they seemed to be going slow enough that Abraham could get out of a moving car, get them back on track and get back in at a snail's pace, but yet on other scenes, they are a near gallop.

And really.... did Carter honestly think he could kill Rick, a seasoned zombie killing Sheriff and all around bad-ass, when he can't even avoid getting bitten by the ONLY zombie in that part of the woods?!?!?!

Best line of the show... "Thank God nothing happened to your hair."

I liked last night's episode. The whereabouts of Morgan through this is something I've always wondered.

I really liked last night's episode but I am really disappointed that we still don't know for sure whether or not Glenn is really dead or not.

I like Glenn. After Carol, he's my favorite character (the fact that he's from Troy, Michigan helps too) Mellissa McBride is from the Winston Salem area, I believe. Sounds like if he's alive or dead, it doesn't really matter because in the comic book he's killed off by Negan and we are supposed to get introduced to him at Alexandria.

OK... so THAT was bad intel. But Steven Yeun is from Troy, MI. Not originally, because he's Korean.
