The walking dead

How do you know?
Ive got a feeling they might be about to introduce the Governor, or the TV shows version of him. Im really hoping they have a character like Michonne too. She was this badass woman who used swords to kill the walkers instead of guns. She also kept two of them on chains to help ward off the others.
Oh hey, you're right. For some reason I was thinking this was season 3.

Rock on Season 2!! :driver:

Badass show for the MOST part. I have been watching since the beginning of season one. I wouldn't watch it if it were some b-grade SyFy channel garbage.

It's not perfect but it's still better than 99% of all other TV shows.

Aside from about a dozen cool scenes, the first half of the second season was total crap.

The rest of Season 2 is supposed to blow all the previous stuff out of the water.

Anybody else watch the aftershow called Talking Dead??

It's usually pretty good and they have people from the show and give a little insight to further episodes. They also bring up something I overlook during the episode.

Watched Breaking Bad and Mad Men, every episode from day 1 but not this one.... This show's previews and promos just didn't spark it for me... Dunno why, but it just didn't seem interesting.. Not really sure whats so good other than cool special FX... ???

-Norman Reedus (Boondock Saints, etc.) is a character in this series. He plays a redneck with a big fixed blade knife and a crossbow.

-If you like zombies even the slightest bit, you need to watch it. There's plenty of BRUTAL zombie kills if you're into that stuff.

-As far as a story goes, there's not another single "post-apocalyptic" show out there now that can even come close to this. I wish it was all action with nothing but episodes about Special Forces teams sweeping the cities clean of walking corpses... but I don't have any say in what happens on the show...

-The main character Rick and his family drive a Jeep SJ. Season one also contained a family with a lifted Samurai. Plenty of other cool vehicles tossed into the mix too.

There's a few reasons for you to check it out...

Its got to have a decent story that progresses all season long (and hopefully throughout the entire series from season to season) to keep me intrigued for more than 2 or 3 episodes...

If it does, the trailers have failed to highlight it...

Thats the thing, the comic book has an awesome story, at least what Ive read so far. The farm was really a 15-20 pages at best. The show is a real slow pace compared to the book.

SPOILER (highlight to see)
They leave the farm pretty fast and end up at a prison a couple of hours down the road. Its pretty awesome.

The snail-paced bed ridden episodes were dumb. The episode where Daryl fell down the ravine and almost got eaten was a hair raiser...
I'm looking forward to the rest of Season 2. I'm ready for them to leave the farm.

4th street down town Winston. Aperture theatre. I plan on seeing every episode there. Its a very cool atmosphere. Did I mention they sell beer?

OK so it's official, I'll be there tonight, trying to drag my BIL along.

Anybody else going?

Yeah I admit the comic book certainly had a different story-line, in a good way. With your spoiler, it looks as though a few key characters are about to come into play.

The thing is, most of the key characters should already be there. The show doesnt have Tyreese, just "T-Dog" who I assume is supposed to be the same guy, although Tyreese played a HUGE role being as Shane...well if you've read the book, you know about that. Plus Tyreese had a daughter and her boyfriend with him, who ended up being pretty important to the story too.

I just home Michonne shows up. Thats the only character I really want to see.

Tonight's episode was decent...one thing that bothers me though. "We might be able to find some snowmobiles to do some runs". WTF. YOU'RE IN GEORGIA!!!!

Yeah I thought I missed something when he mentioned it. Of Course its been awhile since I've been in GA. :D

Episode was pretty good. I would have used the new kid as a zombie appetizer to free Shane, even though I don't care for him.

Finally got caught up tonight. Was all that thrilled about this episode. I found it kinda boring. Not really looking forward to a season of "protect the farm".

On another note..Where the hell is Herschel?

I was wondering that too. From what I've read on another forum, AMC cut the budget pretty heavily this time around, so they are taking some of the higher paid actors/actresses out of a few of the episodes to save money

I never knew this was based on a book series until I read this thread. I should really read more.

Its a good series, way more action packed than the show. Ive only read up until up until issue #48, and there are currently 90 issues.

Technically, this series is on a graphic-novel series from the early 2000s.. but alot of things aren't quite the same.
I knew about it but never read them.

I sure hope the show makes it to 90 episodes..

Wait..so this is based on a comic, not a real book? /confused.

Like RatLab said, its a "graphic-novel" series. Basically a comic book with more pages. It began in 2003, and is still running. I guess its up to 94 issues, not 90. There are some MAJOR differences in the book though.

Yeah but there has to be some differences; as it would be way too predictable, and that would take away some of the draw of watching the show. Also you'd be inundated with spoilers, much worse than the spoilers we inadvertently gave Chris :D

I read most of Issue #1 last night. It was pretty darn close to Episode 1, though it moved much faster. :p Might just have to read the "graphic-novel".

Tonight's episode...really? Frustrating. Chris you have until Wednesday...!
