That thing has been on there for a loooong time. I guess people ARE smart enough not to own that piece

Why not? They're a DOT stamped tire.

I'd be more concerned that you can't steer it, and what kind of brakes are gonna stop those tires on 3/4 ton axles? Assembled, those wheels/tires gotta weigh about 400 lbs each or more.

This brings up a good question..

at what point do you stop in tire size on a standard jeep (or chevy, or yota...anything that you dont plan on making into a buggy/truggy/juggy)?

Depends on a lot of things, but I would say if you plan to leave the wheelbase stock, anything over 37 starts looking unproportional to me.

Guess I phrased that question wrong..

It wasnt meant to be a question of proportion..more along the lines of, at what point does it just get impractical for use on the trail? IE, you LOSE articulation with that certain tire size...

what a waste of a tj!

Ive got a friend with a yj on leafs with 42 iroks and 1 tons. It does awesome. And he drives it daily even though it barely fits in one lane. I think its 102" wheelbase.

lol

the hood says ''Rubicon''...If it was a true ruby, then it would be worth that price.
Just take out some lift and sale the tires. But I dont think its a rubicon anyway.

He says it's a '98 TJ, Jeep didn't start Production on the Rubi until 2003, or at least that's the first model year. besides, at a glance I could tell you that wasn't the Rubi decal ;)

I wonder why he went with leafs instead of springs? That D30 axle looks so pathetic!

He needs to sell life insurance with that thing!
