Ok, what I am looking for here is a list of places & events that you have wheeled / that you would recommend to others.

This can be a specific place, like URE / Uwharrie, but please include the LOCATION as well. Eldorado, NC, etc so folks can google it.

Then, maybe a short writeup of the event / location and what trails to hit, etc. Make sure to mention the approx date of the event as well and any links to pictures, website, etc!!

What I am personally hoping to see here is things like Harlan / and a list of the trails you can hit with a stock trail rig. Or, the Great Smokey Mountain Trail Ride, or Dixie Run,...same info, etc.

We will define a stock rig as 4x4 with up to 33" tires and assume they do not have lockers on either axles.

shit, I would knock that tire size back to 31". Most stock rigs cant fit a 33.

With that said:
The Richlands near boone I did most of with a bone stock cherokee.

Kinda sorta around here....

Oak ridge estate in VA. It is an invite only, but they have about 2 invite events a year. One run will be in Sept

yea, we went there after about 6in of rain, probably 6yr ago. It was kinda interesting then. Pretty boring otherwise. There are a couple of places around raleigh that are about the same. But I am not sure of the legality of wheeling there. They are really only good for playing around though

The rain? Richlands might be a little more challenging then, not much though haha.

As far as legality, I believe Richlands is legal.

Callentee (SP) can be run with a mostly stock rig, just gotta take them bypasses.

Tell us a bit more about this, MOST importantly, the LEGALITY of wheeling there. (Didn't think to mention that, but no powerlines or other illegal type places)

Oak Ridge - For those who are UFWDA members, there is a ride coming up there soon! This will be open to all types of vehicles (not just a Jeep Jamboree, etc)

Ok, this is pretty obvious to many of us because we have been there, but I remember MY first wheeling trip and being worried. So will outline Uwharrie, which is close to Eldorado, NC. It costs $5 for a day pass to the trail system. They are open from April 1 to Dec 15 every year.

The trail system at Uwharrie consists of trails that you can get a stock trail rig thru 90% of them with a group of friends.

Rocky Mtn Loop and Daniel are the two hardest trails and yet you wou will hear lots of stories of folks taking completly stock Samurais and Jeeps thru them.

Rocky Mtn Loop has ONE place on it that I am not sure a stock rig can get thru without possible rocker damage. This is just before the 'Kodak' area and is an obstacle with 2 boulders at the top of a gully and a large tree on the left. Short wheel base rigs SHOULD be able to go left and then cut right/hard and avoid damage. My Land Cruiser was long enough I came down on the passenger rocker and bent it.

If you have sliders, NOT an issue, but if you are open diffs, it will either take momentum, luck or possibly a bit of winch or strap depending on the day. There IS a bypass that folks have been using on the left, I am NOT sure it is legal though, so cannot recommend it for sure.

A TIP: If you come up the back side of RML you can sneak to the top of the Kodak area, and walk down to watch the big rigs play in the rocks.

Daniel, I simply do not have tons of experience on this trail, there is a set of switchbacks with an ugly dip to the right caused by erosion/water. Momentum and the right line is key here and later there is another section with some shelves but again I am hearing stockers make it thru by choosing a good spotter and throttle/momentum.

I hope that helps!!

I think on that trail it will be a challenge for a stocker to get up the rocks (right before the switch backs) I have seen 1 stocker ram there way to the top.. then have to get pulled the rest of the way. (then again, at the beginning of the year it might be easier if they grade out that part some)

I did Tellico on 31's in my XJ..

I just did not do lower2, slickrock, or guardrail.. and since 2 of those are closed this year I would add Tellico to the list..

sad, that used to be a pretty decent place to go for just an afternoon.

I cant wait to get out of school and PCS to my first base, I got some high hopes for the wheeling in texas
