The ergo of working on the tractor for basic service seems very poorly thought out, the air filter and battery are very difficult to get to, the alt. As a tensioner can be an OK design, but in this application, accessibility and position of the alt. Make it a very hard adjustment to make.
We are on our 4th battery in as many years.
The loader hoses were routed inches from the pass. Side front tire in their static position, add in loader lift and tractor articulation and the tire rubs right through the hoses in a matter of a few hours.
The loader valves have a poorly designed clevis that is a single cast aluminum piece with a pin through it, the pin leaves a VERY small cross section remaining in the casting, where it has broken (on two separate occasions). As it is all enclosed next to the valve, you can still dump pressure (push the cable)....so when it fails, if you were doing a dig with the bucket, you can end up with the tractor lifting itself off the ground and no way to lower it.
We go through shear pins on the PTO like nobody's business.....I know they are the "fuse"......but for some reason it seems to be considerable more prevalent in this Mahindra.....and did I mention there is really no provisions for servicing said shear pin, we had to cut holes in the plastic guard, it is riveted to the back of the tractor.
Most of the 3-pt hitch pins have fallen out at some point (again, it does happen), but it happens very frequently, and they aren't a standard pin, they have a curve in the main pin that it appears is suppose to make it low profile.
The fuel filter being the lowest part of the tractor seems pretty dumb.
Last time I was working on it, I found another hyd. Hose that had cut a notch in the cab step (equal parts cab step and hose braiding failure).
This is off the top of my head, tractor might have 150 hours on it? We are the original owners.......
I won't go into the weld quality on the impliments....but it isn't great.
Literally I have never once used this tractor and not had to fix something or had something fail on me before or while using it.
Other than that, I do enjoy the Cab with AC and a radio!
