Has anyone ever purchased trailer plans and built the trailer?

How has it worked? I guess, were the plans sufficient and was the design so that the trailer was properly built?

I'm not really into buying plans, but I want to build my trailer. Normally I'd just sketch it out myself, but the trailer I want is a 30' gooseneck and this will be the first gooseneck I've ever built. I'd hate to spend the $$$ and time building it if I'm "guessing" on the design...

I guess I could just copy and modify someone else's trailer...

http://www.trailerplans.com/ is what they used on extreme 4x4 to build their hauler/camper goose neck.

I was at Extreme's studio when they were building the trailer. I only took a brief glance at the plans, but it seemed fairly straight forward. For the price it really seemed worth it, you dont have to take the time to engineer/design the trailer you only have to fab it up.

I can take care of a standard trailer pretty easy, but for a real hauler, I'd prefer something that was a little more engineered that what I would do...

don't you have more important things to do first??..like finish a 1980's tube buggy:flipoff2:

I knew that was coming :flipoff2:

This is stuff I can do while at work. That way when I actually finish the buggy in 2010 I'll have already made up my mind about a trailer :D

Plus, I'm in the middle of a big steel order at work and can bundle the steel for the trailer in and get it for much cheaper...

Totally tubular, dude! Or box. Just ad to get in the tubular part.

Yup I was also at the Xtreme studios when they were building the trailer, shit Jph0913 and myself actually got to work on the trailer for half a day.

I did look at the plans and they were very easy to read and understand..

I would suggest these plans for your build

I know this thread is a little old but did you ever get the Extreme 4x4 trailer plans?

I have been looking to buy them but wanted to hear your input and thoughts.
