2004 Kaufman 18ft trailer. Wood deck, newer tires, 4 D-rings on it, black, equipment type trailer no dove tail, flip up ramps. Stolen from my shop on Thursday night in Greensboro. Both tail lights were broken and the tag was gone off it too.
I know this is a long shot, but I figure what the hell maybe somebody might see it. I also need to buy another one soon if anyone has something similar for sale. thanks Greg

Man that sucks.. I was just talking to a freind last night about people stealing stuff..

but hey check out for sale section there are 2 - 18 foot trailers for sale in there cheap

Bigwoody=easy target for thieves...that sucks, good luck with this.

I use a lock on mine. Kinda made fun of a friend of mine who had a log chain through the wheels on both sides. Guess it really isn't overkill huh

Damn that sucks! how was URE for you? Practicing for the race?

I hope we can log a better time than the 2 hours it took to run rocky mt. loop...lol. I'll be going down one week night (early evening) to do some real testing, I do think I got my suspension figured out though.

If you have wheels with holes, you can use a piece of pipe, push it all the way thru from one side to the other. Weld a stopper on one end, and a couple of tabs on the other (in line with the pipe) that will help foil bolt cutters. Don't have to lay on the ground to feed chain/cable thru that way. Doesn't stop them from taking off the wheels that you have locked and running on the other 2, though. :(

That suck man. Stealing is the one thing that gets me fired up. :shaking:

Damn Greg.. this just sucks.. you're handling it A LOT better than I would.. fucking thieves...

I pmed the guy and pretty much said I'd jump in the truck and come get the wooden deck one...we'll see if he gets back to me...it is the NC4x4 for sale section..I never put much stock in it, thanks for the heads up though.

Worse things have happened and will happen...it's not so much the money I hate as it is the new nuerotic habit I knew I would develope, of having to study every trailer I pass and wonder if its mine for the next year or so. $500 cash to anyone if they find it.

what a PITA! anymore more noticeable features of trailer, say... one white wheel, or maybe something not as easily or cheaply repaired as busted lights? I'll keep an eye out between W-S and HP.

That's one problem with so many trailers, they look alike. I doubt it, but if they tried to re-title it, if a inspector was on his toes, he might just pick up on it not being a home-built.
One advantage to having a home built like mine, there ain't another like it.

Not sure about your shops layout, but is it gated? Good lighting outside? maybe some outside camera's? I don't know, seems the worse things get, the more we have to spend to keep what we have.

The piece of steel that holds the right ramp up is attached to the trailer with a grade 9 bolt very loosely , it has a nut welded on the end of it. The D-rings are bolted on the trailer, not welded. Wood deck. All tires are about new.

I'll keep an eye out for it! That sucks!

Hmm, will keep an eye out / also makes me think that putting a unique feature or two on there is a good idea. Maybe putting your name on it and then 'covering' it with a tacked on panel to cover it / so you can prove it later if serial numbers are gone.

But alas, insurance I hope, will take care of this for you. Certainly the motivator to get what you have been wanting a while now. (5th wheel with deckover for a camping area?)

The insurance company will just run one up in me if I turn it in, so i'll suck it up and buy another. Luckly I bought that 28' deckover a month or so ago or I'd have no trailler. I just really have to have another smaller one for work and personal stuff.
