on a couple camper forums I'm on, this is a pretty hotly debated topic.

My opinion, Yes, balance them, single or double axle do them all.

Why ? tires are not perfect, none ( few ) are true let alone perfectly round, smaller tires spin faster, thus creating more of a vibration/bounce in the chassis of the trailer, making tires run hotter, bearing get beat, springs get over worked. Frames get fatigued from the constant vibration ( like they don't have a tough enough job )

Yes, the tires on my camper are balanced, and they will be on my utility trailer when those get replaced

Why not? I've debated this w/ a couple people and tire stores. It's worth the peace of mind for a few bucks to know they are right. I passed a dual axle tag along camper on the way to the Flats yesterday and I swear the passenger side rear tire was jumping plumb off the pavement. I'm guessing he wished he had his balanced.

I'm fairly certain mine are all balanced. I don't know of any good reason why you wouldn't.

Also... internet forums tend to attract stubborn, opinionated SOBs (I'm probably guilty). RV forums attract *especially* stubborn, opinionated SOBs.

I'd balance them should help extend the life a little and also when it's unloaded it won't bounce all over the road.

If a tire of mine touches the ground, you can bet it's balanced one way or another! It certainly won't hurt anything.

my trailer tires arent balanced. <shrug> I bought tire rim assemblies at a trailer supply store and bolted them on. never had them near a tire store.
if they were there I would have them balanced
