So I am coming home from a 12 month tour in Afghanistan at the end August and i want to do something for my wife, take her somewhere for the weekend (not a tourist area)or something. She deserves something she has been raising our first child who is only 5 months and working 50hr weeks. Any suggestions?

Cabin in the mountains. VRBO has many deals on little cabins hidden away. I know of a couple in north Georgia that arent too far away but still away from it all. If thats what you may like let me know and I'll tell you about two that I've used and would recommend.

Meadows of Dan is nice. Blue Ridge Parkway, Floyd VA, Mabry Mill, the Blue Ridge Music Center, and several nice attractions are all within short driving distance. It's beautiful up there, and the MoD Family Campground has some nice cabins if you don't have a camper. It's about an hour and 45 from you, perfect for a weekend getaway.

B&B in Savannah, Ga.

But to be honest, if the kid is 5mo. (7mo. By the time you get home) you may be in for an awakening of how much time the wife and you are going to have to each other. ;)

The wife and I just spent a long weekend in Brevard, alternating between camping and hotels, and spending all day hiking to and hanging out at various waterfalls. It was very fun and relaxing if you're into that kind of stuff. Also, Brevard has some nice places to eat and hang out.

Well being as I'm a woman and there is only one thing she loves as much as u. What's gonna make her the happiest is seeing you with your baby because I'm willin to bet u 2 r the things she loves most.....so spend a week being daddy and then the weekend being husband she will appreciate that more than anything else and will love where ever u take her.......(especailly if its servierville tn they have an awesome waterfall that's a little bit of a hike)

Hope that's helpful
