URE 4x4cross OFFICIAL THREAD. - May 9-11

I understand your frustration and I too would be upset. I wish I could offer everyone better accommodations, but the best I can do is give you a free place to pitch a tent/camper. We are just not designed or set up like a "group camp" and our intentions is not to piss people off. We are only trying to step up and offer a free place to stay so people at least don't have to stress out about where they will be sleeping
.

Big thanks to Johnny for stepping up and offering us a free place to stay! Uwharrie Stables Rocks :wheel:

Hey folks / here is a real alternative. I bought one of these (very similar) about 3-4 years ago when going to the SFWDA event where there was no showerhouse.

It was a really "cold" weekend but the black lining made it warm up and I still took a warmish shower which felt wonderful!! I just strapped it to the side of my rollbar and was good to go!

If URE Stables has water spigot, then they can be refilled for the next day too! Your local camping store and maybe even walmart will have these! (Overnight shipping also option I suppose)

Reliance Solar Spray Shower
Item Number: 80882

5G/20L capacity (enough for 3 showers).
Large shower head provides maximum water flow.
S-hook and cord supplied for easy hang-up.

^ These things work, but really, i cant believe y'all cant just go a weekend without a shower? You'll be in the woods, who cares?

Anybody know what the hours for the Outpost are for this event weekend? Kinda curious as to that since its the only gas / drinks / food/ cigarettes/ trail passes immeditely close by. Seems to me that it would be in their best interest to keep extended hours. Just a suggestion to mention it to them or at least post their hours since we're just across the street and all...
There is also the Mountain Market, just a few miles south on 109. One of the owners is a member here and interested in drumming up business.
Aparently they also sell passes, food, supplies... everything you get at the Outpost. Just a smaller parking lot.

Yes, the Mountain Market is just right down the road and offers just about everything the Outpost has. We are in the works to have a concessions trailer at the stables all weekend and might even keep the store open as late as midnight (depending on how many people there are). I'll update everyone as I get more info.

We will have an info board at Arrowhead.
Not to be a PITA but how about a board at Badin Lake camp site for the racers that had gotten spots there last minute.
Sher I will be down the road from you in sites 34 and 35. More Jeepsters.

Cool, Stinson is in site 33, I'm in 31. It will be good to see you again.
Same hear. My wife and I are planning to bring our full sized grill with us rather then the small coal or propane one so if your around dinner time just stop on by.

Sandy is planning our meals, something with Bratworst(sp?) and some other stuff. I'm a real picky eater. But we'll stop by.

Anyone know if the observers (those just paid for weekend tickets) will actually get a ticket of some sort in the mail? Otherwise where/when do we pick them up since pre-paid?

x2

I just bought mine on Monday.

mine was mailed to me. I got it a day or two after I bought it. I believe I read somewhere that if you bought one after friday then they give it to you at the gate. but I could be wrong.

Site 33 at Badin Lake Campground is available. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, the person who was going to use it will not be able to. It is booked for Thur. - Sun. Let me know if you are interested (it's right by the showers).
