Jeff, if you want to come down for the DPG run, you've got a place to stay with me. Burgers or ribs, your choice. I'm heading down there first thing in the AM. Unfortunately, I can't go to the cleanup, but it looks like y'all won't be short on help.
As a Zuker, and one that was there Friday, I'm as pissed about this as any of the rest of you are. When somebody tags the name of a specific club or organization, it's easier to sling blame. When they're throwing up brand tags, though, that casts a wide net! In my experience, the Sammi crowd is typically the most laid-back, come-as-you-are group out there. Very little competition or false bravado among them. Of course, the Sammi is getting more popular lately, and with that comes new elements of people. We can't control everybody who wheels a Zuke. What if they had painted "Yota" or "Chevy" or "Jeep" on the trees? Same difference.
Fact is, we all need to work together to keep the trails open. In spite of the rise in popularity of the sport of wheeling, Uwharrie trails have been the cleanest this year that I've ever seen them, potentially due to the new "Trail Adoption" program. Are we going to let a few bad apples ruin it for the rest of us? NO! Hopefully, they will be dealt with individually. More than likely, though, we'll never find out who they were. If we do, though, I guarantee you they will not be welcome to wheel with me until they've redeemed themselves. People in my groups don't do that kind of crap when I'm around.
