I have the opportunity to purchase a Lincoln Ranger 8 for $600. Is this too good a deal to pass up? I have the money, but I'm in between housing at the moment. Every other one I've seen for sale is $2,500 and above. Do I go for it regardless of "need" at the moment just because I have the deal now?

Absolutely. Let me know if you pass, or decide to sell it after you get it.

I keep asking the wife about it. We are getting ready to move to an area prone to black outside, so if nothing else it would be a nice thing as a back up for keeping food from spoiling or running the fan on the gas logs. But she keeps saying, "Do whatever you want.", and I ain't falling for that shit again.

It’s a good machine. I’d buy it in a heartbeat, especially at that price, even if I don’t need it. But, I have a place to store it and wife that understands me buying random things I don’t need.

but like I said earlier, let me know if you don’t buy; I can drive and buy almost at a moments notice. :)

The sad thing is, there is a need. I need to fix my brother in laws tractor, needs some welding done, and being able to use my portable air compressor in places extension cords dont reach would be great, but few women understand such things....

So buy it, fix that stuff, and sell it for $2500 in a couple weeks. What are you waiting on?

Also, as someone who has bought and sold a lot of tools/machines/equipment through the years, there's always a reason something is so cheap. ;)

Yeah ... been looking for one of those at a reasonable price for a while.
An 11,000 watt generator by itself is more than that.
As long as alls well I'd buy it and run.
But I'm willing to bet one half or the other isn't working.

for that price buy it then go buy a small trailer from northern tool and bolt it down so you can easily move it around :)
