I must admit that this was going to be the last trip on those tires. They were still legal and i didn't think they were unsafe for the trip but I was planning on replacing them in the near future. Don't really know if anything else contributed to it blowing but I suppose I could have run over something.Glad to hear you and family are safe. What kind/shape were your truck tires?
on us1 just outside of sanford
turned a 180 after avoiding the concrete overpass support pillarDang glad everyone is ok. Did you go across the median or did the truck turn 180*? It could have been a lot worse and im sure it looks a lot worse in person.
yep, 10 ply iircWere the tires load e?
Don't be worried, I could have damaged the tire while at URE and not known it, could have picked up a nail or something causing it to loose pressure and run hot then blow, etc. I would, will if funds are available, run the same set up again. One thing I will do different is to run a titan hitch on my truck to allow me to pull my car hauler even with a 4' camper overhang. I just hadn't been able to delegate the funds or I would have already had one. My, last, set up was only good for flat towing, which worked well for this truck camper and my last one.I am presently working on the same camp/tow combination and now I'm nervous. I'm OCD about tires and hearing that you had proper rubber on the ground makes me shutter. Once again glad everyone was ok and sorry for your losses.
