Well...

Update:
I got some $$$ from the insurance but I got to stretch it to get everything taken care of. They only covered the truck, nothing for the camper or the ZJ

Right now I'm looking for at least 1 stock Dodge chrome steel wheel. Anybody out there got one they want to sell?

Did the ZJ have coverage? Why was it not covered?
Well, sixteen years ago, when I bought the truck, the insurance policy I had fully covered what I hauled or towed. Fast forward to now, apparently there has been some policy changes and the only thing the insurance covered on hauled or towed items is liability. Now I know I should have read all the policy amendments over the years but really, who reads all those things. I set up my policy back then to cover these things and assumed it would be the same as the years went by. So, since I thought what I towed was covered, I dropped the full coverage on the ZJ last January being that the majority of the miles it saw was being towed.

Hard lesson to learn but everything will have coverage going forward.

Picked up a bed, hood and wheel today for the truck. Other parts ordered and on the way. The new(old)ZJ i picked up that wasn't running is now running smooth thanks to Lee. It's still got a few issues I need to address before I deem it reliable and then it will be part swapping time. First on the list is get it to pass inspection.

Edit:

Didn't pay attention to the wheel they gave me, it was the wrong bolt pattern. The bed and hood came from a 1500 so they just pulled one of it's wheels forgetting it was going on a 2500. Of course they don't have the right one in stock, so off to Siler City tomorrow to get one.:shaking:

Sounds like some great progress Len. Post up some pics as you go on the truck and new(old) ZJ!

I picked up the truck tonight from 4 Wheel Parts and brought it home. Thanks to Greg and Staff!!! Next step is to put the bed on that I got. Anyone available to help put the bed on the truck tomorrow?

Nice!

Didn't get the new bed on the truck so it will have to wait until after 10/27 since I had to relocate the bed across town until then.
Moved the old ZJ last night, looks like the rear axle might be shot, could be the transfer case but it really sounded like the axle.

Update:

Haven't had much time, or the weather was against me when I did, to work on fixing things up. I did finally get the new bed on the truck back at Thanksgiving. Still have to fix the wiring to the tail lights. Water pump on the new ZJ failed so it got a new one. I'm taking the new ZJ and the wrecked one in to have the suspensions swapped tomorrow. I was going to do it myself but between work, short days and rainy or cold nights it wasn't getting done.

Hopefully 2014 will be easier on our vehicles...

A HUGE Thanks to Greg, Kyle, Nick, Eric, John, Troy and and everyone else who helped get the ZJ closer to wheeling form.

Just picked up the Jeep from Greg and the guys at 4WheelParts here in Raleigh. They did a great job, the Jeep drives great. They really went above and beyond to help me out. When they pulled the lift off the wrecked ZJ, they went ahead and pulled the bumpers and rocker guards etc while they had the Jeep up in the air. They also swapped the transfer case from the old ZJ into the new ZJ since it already had a SYE on it. Everything was taken care to make the new Jeep as close to the old one as possible at this stage.

Next on the list is to put the bumpers on, wire up the winch, add some frame stiffeners, figure out something for transfer case skid protection, and on and on...

WOW!!! IDK how I didn't see this before! Glad that y'all ended up okay, that's a scary wreck!!!! Sorry to hear about the Jeep and camper not being covered, that sucks! Glad you were able to find a replacement ZJ and swap the good parts over!
