Well...

I really don't remember what I did initially, I know I didn't stand on the brakes though as that would probably been much worse.

I'll be using a trailer behind the truck but my camper doesn't hang past the rear bumper of my truck so no need for the extension. Rock on and if you need help rebuilding the camper I'm becoming some what of a guru at it! I believe mine may have been worse than yours is now!

If you think it can be put back together I'd love for you to take a look at it to get your opinion. I was under the perception it was done for. What ya doing this weekend?

I've been looking at prices of there things and from what i can tell a decemt one is going to run about $5k. If your insurance co gave you anything for it you may be better off to get another. If its all you got left, some time and maybe $2k would make a nice refurbished camper. Mines a little smaller but I have gutted everything but the bathroom and refrigerator, going with aluminum 1 pc roof and I won't have a grand in it. Post up some pics of what's left of it. They really aren't made of much.

And if you don't want to fix it I'll get it out of your way!!

Went up US-1 this evening....was that you that took out the guardrail there at the bridge? That was a pretty good hit on the rail.

I'm not sure, when I look at the truck and Jeep, they just don't look like either one took out the guard rail. There was debris in he center median that was attributed to my accident, it's in my truck and Jeep, that did not come from my vehicles. Also based on where we ended up I just don't see how I hit all that guard rail.

there doesn't appear to be any guardrail left there in your pic, was probably taken out in a previous incident, and thats why the concrete bridge was the worst choice, it wasn't protected at that point, you were with it enough to realize that , but not really aware the guardrail had ended.

I'd go back and take a few pics to prove that guardrail WAS NOT there or you may end up on the hook for it ( not that the state would double dip and bill more than one party for the same thing, things like that never happen )

I passed by this morning, YIKES! I got a little puckered just seeing the black marks and the smashed guardrail. It looks like you crossed the left lane and were headed straight at the center support, bounced off the guardrail, and back across both lanes where it 180'd/flipped heading towards the outside bridge pier which does'nt have a guardrail  That easily could have been a deadly accident.

WOW, just seeing this. another for so glad everyone is ok. looks like 1 hell of a ride.
this helped me make my decision on going with a bigger slide in or a driver.

Well, after several long hard days, I finished cutting up the truck camper into manageable pieces. The last of it is loaded on the trailer and headed to the dump in the morning.

Still no word from the insurance co.

Now that the camper is off the truck, I hope to pull the bed Thursday and get a good look at the frame and suspension to see if the truck is salvageable. If it is I'll need a new bed of some sort. I've been thinking about a flat bed but I've never had one. Any pros/cons vs a regular bed?

Flat bed and a paint job:D Maybe the frame is ok hopefully the hitch was able to disperse the load well enough.

Haven't been on here much..just heard about it from a friend...glad you & family are ok!! Trucks & jeeps can be replaced.

I guess I don't want to get my hopes up and find out it's twisted. Hope for the best but expect the worst, especially with our current run of luck.

Sorry to hear but glad everyone is ok. If your ZJ is totaled, but I have a BIG upgrade for you. 95' ZJ. 318, 39.5 TSL's, 14" Coilovers, 60's, ect. Full interior and A/C.
