Went with red. The can says cherry red. I ALMOST went with black with yellow stripes but figured that was too hard to F with.
2 cans of primer and 2 cans of red. I have both sides primered and one side painted.
I used krylon tough something or another. Red was the same price as black so I figured what the hell.

SATURDAY. I'm actually taking a vacation day to get it installed before the workday this weekend.:bounce:

Primer gray, why bother with a color that is just going to get scratched off anyway.

Price was the same. Why not.

I guess I have always been a function over beauty when it comes to the under side of my jeep. I look for my stuff to be well built and primer or basic black. Shinny colors just get torn up with me.

Oh, Imma beat the hell out of it if the OEM shovel is any indicator.

When you get gouges or scraps do you just hit it with rattle can again?

I painted mine four shades of purple (and jon came behind me and painted it all one color.. turd)

I wanted a black background and red letters that said oopps

as far as spray paint goes, when you get a scratch rattle can works best. Flat black is what I use

Locker pump bracket took forever. Skid plate was easy. READY FOR UWHARRIE!

HD Transfer Case Skid Plate for '03-'06 Jeep Wrangler TJ/LJ (Extra-Clearance)(Carbon Steel Plate)

Fits '03-'06 Jeep Wrangler TJs and LJ Unlimiteds with standard or automatic transmissions.

Fabricated from 3/16" thick carbon steel plate (with optional upgrade to 1/4" plate). The parts were designed in 3D CAD software and laser cut then bent on a CNC press brake for a perfect fit every time.

The UCF Transfer Case Skid Plate is reinforced in the middle of the skid from one side to the other with a stiffening channel/transmission mount. The front and rear edges are ramped to increase strength and aid in sliding over obstacles. This product will increase ground clearance by 2 1/2" over the factory skid plate. The total height of this system is about 2".

We recommend that you have at least 1" of body lift to install this skid plate with no body/transfer case vibration issues. Shipped UPS in bare steel.

It's pretty nice. If you dont have the locker pumps to deal wit hit'll go in lickety split.

I may now move the pumps up under the hood now (eventually).

Hard to get a pic from the ground at URE, but this is from the drivers side.

Nice work...

When you get gouges or scraps do you just hit it with rattle can again?

Yep.
Not so it looks pretty, but so it won't get rusty.

I like seeing scratches on a skid plate, b/c that tells you it's doing its job.

I did Daniel and took a crazy line across the rock garden because of breaks on all the other lines. I need an alignment now.
