For once, a health update I'm glad to do.
What did I do for my health today ? .... hit the pool at the Stokes YMCA.
Started Friday, the wife and I went and joined. My Medicare pays 100% for mine ( full membership).
We worked out on the machines Monday ( yes, I hurt ) and the pool today for early morning open swim.
We age probably going to exercise Mon, Wed, Fri .... pool on Tuesday and Thursday.
A year ago, after being sedentary from Long Covid symptoms ( muscle & joint pain, muscle weakness ) I weighted 350 lbs.
Around Thankgiving after an Urgent Orthopedic visit for a tweaked knee ( both need replaced, right one is just a bag-o-bones and junk) The ortho doc read me the riot act about what would happen. Too big for surgery ... eventually will be emergency surgery with a weight causing huge increase in infection risk. According to him ... 50% change of loosing at leg.
My General practitioners office has a Dr. who also is a Metabolic specialist .... I can see him for "regular office visits".
He put me and my wife ( diabetic ... well, so was I but not officially diagnosed ) on a low to zero car diet.
My dibeetus is in remission .... wifes is getting close.
We both have stopped taking some meds and reduce the dosage of othere.
I will probably be able to stop blood pressure meds soon!
This morning, I weighted 285 Lbs. .... 15 more lbs and my BMI will be low enough they will replace the knees.
A lot of health issues have improved, a lot of minor Long Covid symptoms are gone .... I still have the big ones, 2 will never get better according to docs so the chart reads " this patient will never return to work!".
Lungs problems and neurological issues suck!
But all in all ..... a good update!
Thanks for reading!
