What have you done to your rig today?

Been dealing with low batteries in the crew for the last couple weeks, they finally gave up the ghost last week. One tested fine, just needed a good charge but the other was cooked. Picked up one new 34/78 Diehard at Advance; as much as I hate piece-mealing things, both of these are gonna be replaced before next winter with a set of AGMs.
Swapped in the new, cleaned and checked all my cables, turned the key and

Nothing.

Turns out, direct drive starters don't like trying to turn over a high-compression diesel engine with low voltage; who'da thunk it? I did an autopsy on the old Oreilly's reman, after 4 years of faithful service, I think me putting 24V to it trying to test it finished it off.

Spent some money. Got a new Powermaster gear reduction starter; these are the cat's ass for 6.5s and 6.2s, and I fully believe it!
Cleaned up all the ARP hardware before swapping it in,

Had to solder a new end on the ignition trigger wire, but once everything was put together all I had to do was tickle the key after one cycle on the glowplugs and it coughed to life with a big cloud of smoke after sitting stone dead for over a week!

Going to do an oil and fuel filter change tomorrow, then a wash and good solid interior cleaning on Sunday,

Brake lines all done, just need to bleed the system and see if the calipers and drum cylinders are any good.

Got the old 258 off the hoist it’s been dangling from for a few weeks and on to a stand.

Removed the “new” engine from the shipping cradle I built and now it’s on the hoist. Installed the flex plate and got everything ready to mount the transmission before having to call it a day. Also, pushed everything back to the side de of the garage. Sure is nice having the jeep on Dollie’s and everything else on wheels too.

Well shit.
Full service done, Amsoil 15W40 and EA filter, Wix fuel filter "cartridge" and greased it butthole to brisket.
Noticed a small dribble of diesel off the back of the motor but I assumed it was just some residual fuel that spilled when I was swapping filters.
Went to run some errands and realized something pretty quick.

It was in fact, not residual fuel trapped in the valley but a steady stream pouring out from the back of the motor. Spent about 30 minutes at the Salisbury 7/11 wadded up in the engine bay pulling the "fuel bowl" apart and checking all the lines; so if you stop in at the 7/11 and see the lake in front in front of the far set of diesel/gas pumps, I'm sorry that was me.

I'm not sure if it's the filter itself or if I tweaked a line; I'm pretty positive it's a return feed judging by how much spurts out when I shut the truck off.
Guess I'll be swapping to the AirDog much sooner than I anticipated.
