This is one place where I vote buy brand new since you have the interior pulled apart already. It is amazing how much smell is trapped in vehicle carpet, and how much better the interior will look with fluffy new pile. Buy good stuff with mass backing and you will not regret it. A standard kit is less than $200, the "good stuff" is less than $300.
 
Transmission is in and cooler moved. Will do a URE shake down to verify no issues, then on to the 3 link conversion.
 
I have been making a list of everything that I need to fix on the wheeler once it cools down a bit. Amazing how these still cost money not moving LOL! Ordered up shock oil and some DOM to shorten up my air bumps because hitting them constantly on the way to the mall is annoying.

I didn't really clean this thing up before I parked it; I think October 2025 was the last time I drove it? Yuck
Pulled out the battery tray to repaint it before I slam the charging system back together.
It's pretty nasty looking and as I was doing that I started thinking about pulling the inner fenders out to free up some room, there's a broken exhaust bolt on the passenger side and since I've got headers to install the extra room would be nice

I'll probably wait until I start working on the suspension to do all that since I'd be right at it anyway
Deep cleaning the interior and getting everything freshened up shouldn't take too long, but the carpet is what is going to be a challenge.

Had a dude tell me he let all his carpets set out in the rain a couple time before he cleaned them......i was gonna try it on my Dodge carpet that smelled like wet dog but decided to just buy vynil replacent

Here's one place I was recommended, and while not terrible price wise most of my projects are on a shoe string budget these days

The factory carpet has a couple of pretty bad spots but I've also seen worse and brought worse back. I may pull it and try my hand at cleaning and if I'm not happy with how it comes out then seek a replacement; my only concern is fitment

A buddy and I did something similar to a flip truck that smelled like a hog pen; left the carpet out on a trailer deck to air out and get rained on before we hit it with with carpet cleaner in a pump sprayer and a Hotsy pressure washer.
It cleaned up pretty decent and the funk was gone; a couple passes with a carpet extractor after putting everything together and aside from the sun fading it didn't look half bad
