Contacted Chris at Buckeye Performance to schedule for the custom 3 link for the front of the Rubi. Dropping it off in the morning for him to work his magic. I love it when a plan comes together!

I broke a bolt off in the exhaust flange installing exhaust spacers, then drove it to work with just the header/cats....sounded like absolute shit

Yesterday:
Finished the front spring outboarding and went from jack stand hero to roller. (Minus front u-bolts and steering linkage).
By midweek I should be ready to throw the drive train in and weld up shock towers/mounts.

I worked on some final tweaks to the front end on my JK. Just need to order a track bar mount from @Barnes 4wd, re-mount my bypasses and install some limiting straps and the front end should be done. I hope 2016 is the year I get her back in the dirt.

Last two nights:

Battery moved to the back and 1/0 run to it. Fuel cell and pump plumbed, wired and mounted.

Distribution posts in the engine bay for the ECU, winch, starter and accessories.

Cleaned it up real good, especially underneath. I have a dealer appt and don't want to give them any more reason to deny warranty work.

Finished up the wiring for the battery relocation, fuel cell and new lights. Just needs fuel and an air filter before Harlan next weekend.

After wire brushing the rust on the purdy side w the cordless dreal I sprayed white vinegar on her and ground it down w various wheels,brushes again and again for a few days. washed and painted w rusty metal primer and cuverrd w leftover hammer finish paint, replaced a spindle, rebuilt a spindle, replaced some bearings and pulleys.......................

Still can't belive I sold the yota for a jeep!
So of course my shop is full, so I am having to do this shit out side! 8.8 going in the back with an S.Y.E kit, cromoly shafts up front. Trying to get done for opening weekend!

Drove it to get an inspection and passed! Confirmed that it only had 1300 street miles on it last year. I need to fix that this year.

Upgraded the brakes and lightened up the rear axle a little. Just need a shorter spacer to get the caliper on.

Got the steering wheel disconnect welded in and connected the a pillars in the cage with some more tube. Hit all the important nuts and bolts then hit about 10 miles of pavement to shake everything down.

Well my brakes sucked before. So... I spent some $ on brakes that has been a proven way to stop buggies.


BTW, the XJ does look much better with paint and no tater launchers on the front fenders

U joint in the samurai rear shaft. Passenger side rear wheel bearing on the Toyota daily driver. Welded the brackets for the four link lowers on the toy buggie.
So jealous of anyone with a garage or concrete driveway for that matter.

Installed New Radiator, found 2 control arm bolts loosened up (whew scary at 40mph with these tires), changed oil, topped off fluids, painted diff covers and a little test drive by the house. Totally forgot these tires aren't balanced and once I hit 40mph....HOLY CRAP, talk about death wobble LOL. Good to go for the season though, at least for now until first ride!
