What have you done to your rig today?

Sounds about right, but now that you’ve done it it’ll be easier to take it apart and reinstall it after you find out you missed something 🖕
Well, went and messed with it this afternoon. Found that the TQ isn’t seating all the way down. While I did install and turn until is seated down about 1/2-3/4”, it’s still not seated far enough in. The TQ weld nuts that fasten it to the flex plate are sticking out from the bellhousing mating surface by about 1/4”. I got it down further and just past flush, but it still needs to go further. Now to figure out why.

Multiple sets of splines to align, you probably have another set of splines to go before it’s homed. I know it’s like 4 clicks on a 4l60

Ya, been a LONG time since I was involved with a TQ install, and I wasn’t the one doing it. This is my first. Sounds like there’s three seats to be fully seated. I’ve only felt 2.

Date night at Hollywood Studios now. So I’ll try again tomorrow morning.

After much fiddle fawkin around the TC finally seated. I twisted and wiggled and spun and pulled and reinstalled for 30 minutes and it finally just popped in place.

Then another 3 hours of getting the whole kit and kaboodle in the jeep!

Should have big blocked swapped it instead....

Nah just kidding. Looks good man.

Fixed my exhaust leaks and am at the point now where I just need to drive it so I can continue to chase leaks (worst being the rear main) and let the EFI learn more.
The main thing that's bugging me though is the Morel lifters are LOUD. I keep thinking my valve lash is out but when I spot check them they're all good.

What’s it going in?

My 4bt swapped K10 needs the third gear upgrade in the current trans. PO of the truck had this on his porch and a box of rebuild parts and said could have it all…just finally got the chance to pick it up. Contemplating seeing if I can source a longbed driveshaft from Rusty’s and run the 2wd trans to keep me mobile while I rebuild the 4wd trans. Or it will just lay in my garage floor and I will occasionally trip over it.

You can run a d300 np241 or atlas behind a 2wd sm465 with the advanced sdspters tailhousing

I've read a few times that I need to check lash with the engine running, so that's my plan once the valve lashing tool comes in tomorrow. Wish I hadn't sold the OE valve covers so I could cut the tops off, but I'm just going to do one side at a time so I only make 1/2 the mess before moving on

Finally got the relays for the lighting upgrades on my K2500, I'd been running an aftermarket harness for 12V supply directly to the headlights and a relay kit for the 4-hi mod....and after really starting to hone in on the quality of work I'm able to do on wiring and it not look like it's a fire hazard I decided it was time to clean everything up

Also nabbed a set of 0411 computer retainers, I performed the 0411 swap on this truck back in 2019, and I've never been happy with how it looked. Depinned and cleaned these up, now I'm just waiting for decent enough weather to repin the rats nest.
I need to either find my good pick set or buy a plug/connector terminal tool, my fingers were killing me by the time I got everything pulled out.

You’re brave to deal with that many crimps

At this point, I contemplating jackstands.
That way it will at least be all nice and comfy as I continue to ignore it.

I'll be investing in a good set of quality terminal crimpers; that should make it not as miserable when I finally get around to putting everything together
At that point why not get a factory harness with flying 6” leads and use the solder style connectors to tie into new wire? At least you know there’s not a bad crimp in that scenario
