What speed is fast to you?

in my younger days 15 to 20 over no matter where, now I stay with in 5 to 10 over.

fastest I've been 160+ on a rd400
scariest was 160+ down independance blvd in charlotte at 2:00am in a 69 mach 1 running red lights I was not driving and it was not cool

well

I never road a bike but in a stock car a went plenty fast. I did 155 MPH and for a few hours straight I was doing over 115. :D I made a 5 hour drive in 3 hours.:p Speeding is fun. I have been to Germany and went very fast in some different vehicles. I wasnot paying attention to the KPH. I dont brake the law I just bend it a little. Its too hard to drive 65 to 70 MPH on I40 with all these crazy people. I think going about 80 to 90 feels great. :) We all do things in our life that are not smart and not safe. We all learn overtime that we need to adjust that. Some dont live to adjust their lifestyle. And its sad to see.:(

Seriously if you think about how much time you save going fast (on a road trip) then factor in the time wasted by taking a 20min pit stop. Your not really ahead.. Now i try to do more plannig on where/when i stop and minimize the delays and have alternate routes avaliable where i can.

Amen brother!

Dad: "You need to piss?... here's a Mtn.Dew bottle... better go next time I say it's long way till we stop!"

I learned the hard way and force it on my passengers now... only the Mtn.Dew bottle doesn't work anymore (necks too small and it doesn't hold enough)! :D

Since so many people are obviously spouting bullshit...

I will guarantee it's not an altered pic in any way, shape, or form, and the Mille's speedo is pretty darn accurate... I'll spill the beans if anyone is interested in the real story, but for now..

Personally, i'm interested in anything that will go 204. Spill it!

It wasn't totally real. He had his dash set to KM/H, and when he clicked it back to MPH, the legend changed, but the number stayed at 204... 'bout 127mph.

Right at 175 is the real top speed of the bike, and that's pretty dang fast too.

Damn, at that speed I wouldn't be doing anything but looking waaay down the road, let alone changing the legend and taking pictures!

It's stored in the computer..you can review lap times, top speed, and average speed when you're stopped.

Me Driving: 135 when the regulator deal kicked in
Me riding with Step Dad on Autobahn, 255 Klicks, about 155mph
Cruising speed now 5-8 over posted speed
Crusing speed prior to last ticket and 6 month lic. suspension for doing Doing 95 in a 70 in CaverDaves Camry... 80 on the interstate in a typical car. My ZJ won't do more than 70 with out feeling like it's gonna rattle apart. hey it's got 225K+ miles on it, lifted mud terrains and rides like dump truck. there's a reason I don't drive new fast cars :D!

218 rail car at elk creek dragway, 140 in the stang in the driveway, and made it to 147 on my stretched out katana 1000 in 1993 before dumping it in some loose gravel on the hardtop and it totally ripped my body to shreds, had 5 surgeuries on my left arm 8 on my left leg 2 on my face 1on my left hand and 27 months in a wheel chair, so think about what you're doing before you do it.

I had my 3000 gt vr4s tranny pulled and put a taller 5 gear to allow for much higher speeds.
not to mention about 10 other upgrades that allowed it.

you want to talk about tunnel vision. I could not see any part of the road that was clear. I just knew the road was straight and I stayed in between the lines.

I would never ever do that again.

there is some 3000gt in Cali that hit 205 back in 98 that was the faster allwheel drive car I know of under $500,000

Yea, that's why I won't buy a bike. Not enough self control.

I am into the +5-7mph now... prob the only exception is the occasional 35mph zone that SHOULD be rated 45mph minimum (only got 3 tickets in my life ALL in multi-lane, divided highway looking "35 mph" speed traps, in all 3 cases doing about 12-13 mph over...ie 47-48mph in what I assumed was a 45mph area)

Fastest ever... hmm, my old CB750 said I was doing 130mph...my guess is it was really closer to 90ish at most.

Well... actually fastest I ever "drove" anything, I believe it was close/over 200mph...we were at 7,000ish feet over OKC area in 1989 or so...was a nice "executive" series turboprop. (Been a while, used to remember all the details, he was my first accounting professor, took me up for couple hours and let me take the controls, etc and hung out with the confed air force guys) Was a NICE plane...and yes I know they used some diff from mph...

I still think about getting my private pilots license but too many hobbies (hmmm wait a minute, sold the jeep actually...hmmmm, might have to look up local Confederate Air Force chapter, they have the coolest toys)

I know we got some military guys on here prob have some jet time with stick in hand?

as far as a car...my 84 Trans Am...pegged out at 85mph but buddies IROC (whom I was following) was pegged at 135mph...so we haven't really got a clue. Was 20 years old..and invincible (uh yeah)...and yes we are certainly glad to have lived thru our stupidity.
