I removed the passenger side airbag from my 97 xj.

What should I do with it?
I know everyone will say ''set it off and film it'' but I would rather sale it and get some $$

Anyone know where airbags are bought and/or sold?
Anyone know what they're worth?

I am off to search, but any answers on here are welcomed.

Honestly,a 12yo PS bag is worth more settin it off and gettin a good laugh.Their's always a chance somebody will buy it but I wouldnt think their would be much of a market for it.

One of the local yards had a ton of the early bags(the real violent ones) that they were throwing away and I got a bunch of em.It got to where I was out of stuff to blow up.One of the best was puttin it inside a nissan door and settin it off.

lol..maybe I will start a thread in chit chat asking for crazy ideas on what and how to set it off. Should get some good replies, huh?

Sit a 5 gal. bucket on top, make a long switched 12v wire and blow it, you will laugh like hell. It will make you see exactly what those things do to your head.

If you got any balls, sit lay a 2x10 on it, sit on the 2x10...who the hell am I kidding Dylan's a wee man....a 2x6 should be plenty....anyway sit on it ignite and enjoy the ride....

you buy the air bag and beer and we will have a video of this up by next week hahaha

but to be helpful,

try some schools that do auto tech we blew up several in class and we messed round with one in a class at the fire dept. Im sure both would rather you donate it but it takes it off your hands and is a good cause.

Dylan won't do it... It's one thing to race around like speed racer and be cool, but its another to do really cool stuff like this.... :flipoff2:

If you mean I wont sit on it...Bingo, You are right.
Seeing that stuff in slo-mo just looks like it is breaking bones and twisting spinal chords.

I'd be scared of hurting someone else too, so nobody else can ride my airbag either...unless they are willing and say so on camera:lol:

Yager, how about moving this to chit chat...we'll get more ideas and pick the coolest one. We'll film it for everyones viewing pleasure.

well I am going to have 2 air bags soon also :)

who wants them?

I will give them away to anyone that will make a good video with them

Are you taking them out of the xj? If so, what are your plans for the steering wheel? Mine is unhooked, but I was told I would need a new steering wheel if I removed it. Is that true?

that was plan.. new steering wheel

yes, but is it a ''must''? I mean, Ive seen wrecked cars with deployed bags and the steering wheel was still ok looking. Other than a hole in it, Just wondering why I would need a new steering wheel.

I thought about placing 5 dozen eggs on it and setting it off in the Walmart parking lot:popcorn:

keep in mind this is technically an "ex p los ive de vi ce". use in public could possibly be miscontrued as an I E D, you dont wanna get brought up on a W M D charge. especially since there have been warnings of a "lo n e w o lf" t er ro r i st.

Take a razor blade and cut the bag off the wheel and glue the cover back together. It does'nt affect the operation of the wheel.

Cool, Thanks. I may do that. Then I'll have to bags to play with.
Sorry I was talkin about a deployed bag.You might be able to take the cover off a undeployed bag I just never tried it.WHATEVER YOU DO make sure it's off the jeep and has no juice goin to it before you start diggin on it.A local guy was tryin to get the airbag light off on a rebuilt wreck usin a test light and crossed something up and the bag deployed about 10 inches from his face.
