looking for a good rv campground suitable for a family. Any suggestions?

We always primitive camp at Carolina Beach State Park.It is a little ways from Wilmimgton though. They have some RV sites, great hiking trails and biking around the paved camping loops. We always just camp there and drive out on the beach at Ft Fisher or walk around the Civil war museum or go to the aquarium or go to Britts donuts or hang out on the boardwalk......you get my point.

Does Carolina Beach State Park have water/electric sites? Dump station?

Dump station yes, we stayed at one site with water and electric but it may have been a host site. There are usually a few generators running until quiet time which I think is 11. They have a ton of info on the state parks website( I'm on my phone or I would just link it). So all in all I'm not much help tonight. They also have a nice marina that is tied to the park.

They are making 9 sites, water and electric sites, should be done in month or 2. I called them today.

I think u can reserve them when they are done. They wouldn't let me reserve yet. 1-910-458-8206 I think that is number.

Yeah even primitive sites book up pretty quickly in the summer. We always try to reserve a spot. We have certain sites we prefer due to proximity to the bathhouses and some sites have a lot of foot traffic from other sites going to them.

DO NOT go past Monkey Junction toward Carolina Beach looking for a campground unless you go to the state park. The other two or three places are holes!
