I am heading there in july and the weekend I want to go the campground at crawfords is rented out to a family reunion. Does anyone else know of a good place to stay such as a cabin or something that would be kinda close to the trails? If you have any links let me know, thanks Jason

GREEN COVE

GREEN COVE MOTEL, it's not far (from the trails),BUT it is on the other side of the trails (TN) i'v never seen the inside but im sure they cheap. Trail 8 is a nice place to camp. oh yea some one is renting out the last house before you get to the paystation (NC) side, just seen the sign 5/6/06 , do not know the #. GOOD LUCK

tellicocabinrentals.com but i bet they're all booked up this late. Nice place to stay if you're towing and want to cook in a kitchen. not cheap either but close to the trails

I have stayed at green cove motel one time and I would have to say that I would rather camp outside. The only thing this place had going for it was it has running water.

X11000000 First class shithole.

If you do it right camping is more than comfortable enough. Nothing like a Tellico River dip at 6am to wake ya up.

How much is it a night? I've thought about staying there when rain was forcasted and didn't figure it could be all that bad.

It was a pitch in so I dont remember teh exact amount. It has to rain ALOT for me to stay there again.

Peace Valley is on the left as you enter Murphy from Andrews (before WalMart) Just a sign is all you can see from the road. Nice place, grass, hot showers, etc.

There's a nice campground past where ya cutoff of Joe Brown highway toward Tellico. It's a State run one I think. Ate lunch there with family. It has a boat launch on Hiawasse Lake!

That be Hangin dog I do believe. Nice camp sites, community water, and concrete out houses. Has trash bins too. I have seen campers in there and they run a water hose to the camper and had an attachment so others could still use it too. IIRC it's 8 to 10 bucks a night.

I stayed there this winter and it was dirt friggin cheap. It was 3 bedroom and comfortably slept 9 of us. Turned out being around $15/night. Definatley a good alternative to sleeping in the cold abyss.

Stayed at Peace Valley a couple of times... down along a creek, cheap with nice hot showers... It is on the far side of town from the trails, but that's not that big of a deal (well, not to me)...
