Where's the best place to get at least half a pig to cook?

Looking in the Raleigh area, west toward Winston-Salem.

TIA

Plan B: Where's the best place to get a whole lot of BBQ?

We cook about 1400lbs in the spring...get the Boston butts...whoever is cheapest....usually Sams, Pggly Wiggly, or a local meat shop.

Nahunta is the easiest.

Unless you are really have to have whole hog, boston butts are great and easier to cook since they are smaller.

How much is a whole lot of BBQ? I might be able to cook it for you.

Mmmmmmmm piiiiiiigggg.... (Drooling noises)

Nothing to add, I'm too far away.... But I like where this is going...

Well we get all ours from the local place G&W Meats..but Im sure there are closer options

I had a good experience with
Tom Inscoe Wholesale Meat
4130 S Alston Ave, Durham, NC 27713
(919) 544-1250

They took my order on Tuesday May 12'th for a 100# pig and had it ready without a deposit on Friday May 15'th in time for me to cook it on my past birthday the 16'th. Just be sure to let them know if you want it de-headed or de-hooved. And the price goes down tremendously when you hit 100# there so you're persuaded to go 100+.

I'll go back there next time if I ever want to cook another pig. They had excellent prices on bulk chicken as well but they sell out daily. It's best to place an order a few days early if you want anything besides the pig.

Don't cook a pig over 100# unless it is for pure show. Around 90 lbs and some Boston butts to make up the rest of required meat.

If the drive wasn't so far...

A snack from this weekend ...
