Who WON 4x4 race.. and what did ya win?

i'm not 100% sure of this info. or who won, but i heard the top winner got like $1700 and a tube chassis of his/her choice worth about $4500. other prizes ranged from $25-$1500. i think they also gave out brand new tires as well.

I won $210 and 2 39" Pitbull Mad Dogs which I sold to the guy that won the other 2.. I was happy enough...

The $$ number quoted on the website was assuming a full entry - 40 rigs in each class.. there weren't that many entries, so the cash was given as a percentage or total.

what happened to $10k in cash?
It was never $10k in cash. It was $10k equally split in cash and prizes but it turned out to be about $4k in prizes and a good sized check but not $5k. I forget the exact amount.

I'd estimate that the prize packages were about 1/3 to 1/2 of the target amount. It's a shame but next year should be bigger and badder.

Edit: I got 2nd in the C class. The check was $550 and the prize was an 18volt Snap On impact wrench.

I could never find anywhere on the American Wheeler website that officially stated anything about the payout being based on full roster. I know it came up on nc4x4, but this is just one of the areas tha made American Wheeler look a little unprofessional, and it appeared they made up the rules as they went along.
After hearing all the rumors on Saturday, I was happy to get a check at all, even though the $58 was short of the advertised $125 cash payout for 4th place in B-class

They had a few web site issues and that page came down somehow. It was up there in the start, but like I said, ended up running away about a month from the start of the race.

I'd say that it ran pretty well compared to what could have happened. We need to get a thread going on the PROS and CONS (yes, both, not just a complaining thread) so next years can be better. A lot changed during the event based on weather, late starts for reasons that were not AW's fault, and just plain lack of time.

So is it possible that no one knows who won?

No, people know and there was an awards ceremony. I think it's just that nobody memorized the full race results. I'll do my best with what I remember.

I'm not sure if I'm pulling stuff out of my computer cache, try this...

I was a little disapointed when we as racers were not given t-shirts. I was hopping for at least a shirt but, I guess I could have bought one for $20.00 or so. I

Also, I thought DYLAN W done a awesome job with the race :beer::beer::beer::flipoff2:

yep, I was 8:38, #5 was 8:39.xx, you were 8:39.xx+yy
close, better luck next year!

I got 2nd in A class, Brad Carrier, 7:02, I won 212.50 and Snap On cordless 1/2 impact gun, sweet, still would have liked a trophy:flipoff2:

I'll trade you a trophy for that impact! :flipoff2:

Actually think trophies would have been a good idea, its suprising how much a plastic trophie can make you forget about the money you spent on your rig, maybe I'll mount my green bracelet on to the plastic case of my snap on impact as a reminder
