If the truck & Nationwide races are any indication, whoever is leading is probably gonna get wrecked towards the end of the race and it's gonna be every man for himself. The wrecker drivers should get a workout today.

I always pull for Mark Martin. The Roush cars are fast but like ^ said. Its gonna come down to the last lap and the winner will be who ever is lucky. The real racing starts next week.

X2 the Nationwide race looked like a bunch of 3 yr olds in bumper cars. Not sure who I want to win maybe Jr. Or Stewart.

I think JR has a chance, but will probably get wrecked or cause a wreck. I sure hope the rain stops, I have been waiting for this day for a few months.

Kyle Busch FTW!I think danika has a better shot than Jr. One of these days people are going to have to admit he is awful. This race is a crapshoot especially with the rain. Its gonna be a green track tomorrow

Why in the hell do "stock" cars not have wipers and rain tires. Do the drivers stay home if they aren't racing and it rains? Is there any other series that stops in the rain or if there is a hotdog wrapper on the track?

Uhhh I dont know of an oval series in the world that runs in the rain.
When you calculate the forces exerted at those speeds in banked corners there is no way to get the traction required.
Then you have the isue of a wiper trying to move across a windshield at 150+mph.
Then you figure the cockpit has to be open and the spray would impede a driver's vision as it covers a facemask.

Hell folks in Charlotte can't igure out 55pmph in a straight line in the rain....I dont wanna see folks try 200mph.

After watching last weekend dash and the twins... It really anyones game... The aero package and other changes combined with the desire to win this race will make it truly a last man standing race...

They removed rear down force, reduced cooling ability for the #2+ person in a small pack, track conditions, new drivers, old drivers... COT, Fuel injection (fuel consumption) etc....

From watching the nationwide race you do not want to be leading toward the end. I've havent been following much but have they said if the new fuel inj will help with fuel mileage and power. I find it now a little redundent to run restrictor plates, I think it would be better just to tune them back with the computer rather than the way hey do it now.

Well that lasted all of 1 lap and another 600 ft. or so before the first wreck. Hilarious that it was Johnson :p (although I do hope hes okay, he got hit pretty hard that second time)

Yeah he took a lick. Im not sure what to think about letting go of the wheel, though.

Johnson took a hell of a hit to the side, in car cam showed the hit, you could see the A pillar move just a bit. He's gonna feel that in the morning.

Letting go of the wheel is probably the smartest thing to do, you have no control anyway, why risk finger/hand injury by a wheel whipping around ( it did move when he got the side hit ) common race technique is to NEVER have fingers or thumbs inside the ring of the wheel, for just this reason.

I thought he let go early, like he didnt even try. Maybe it was just a bad replay.
