When I hear SxS the first thing I think of is speed and dumbassery
and Florida Georgia line
When I think of you it's all mullets, AMC V8s and functional vaginas.
Truth.

The comma was not necessary.Florida Georgia Line and almost all country music made after 1999 sucks, period.

Or Harlan with a rubber dick hanging off your bumperYou haven't lived until you have that in the background, sitting around Boat Ramp at Chocco, and a crowd of locals ride by...
That being said, I will say its wrong to go ahead and assume there was some wrong doing without anything being said about that in the story.
What is wrong with that? 80’s rule! When I think of you it's all mullets, AMC V8s and functional vaginas.
Truth.
I’ll disagree with this. If someone dies from a traumatic injury someone, somewhere did something wrong.
Stuff happens...what a shame. prayers for the familiesOne of the guys that we will with works with a close family friend of the group and was behind them when it happened. So take it with a grain of salt this is 3rd or 4th person.
What he said is the front dropped into a washed out rut when it came up and out it jerked hard one direction and they didn’t have time to correct. He thought they might have been going 10mph. He thought something broke when it came out or it jerked the wheel out of his hands

That’s kind of absurd. My buddy was in Harlan last week cruising down an easy trail, not going very fast. His steering broke and caused him to turn into the bank and flip. If that happened in the wrong place it could have been fatal. Luckily it was a slow flop.
Anything could happen that could be a freak accident, not always someone at fault.
That being said, most accidents are just that, an “accident” meaning it was preventable.
Not too long ago a guy died at Harlan when he had something break on his front track bar or steering. Lost steering control, wasn’t going fast.
Either him, or one of his close friends was active here.
The details are fuzzy in my mind by now, but that was the jist of it.
I believe I recall that story. Dudes wife drove to the store, said it didn’t feel right so they switched for the drive back. Track bar let go on a gravel road causing them to go over the edge. He died, and she was pregnant and her and the baby lived. (Early I’m in pregnancy)
Sound about right?
Good example, neither did anything “wrong” there. It was just a freak accident.

I believe he wasn't wearing a seat belt maybe?Gabe Gardner.
I knew him, met him a few times.
Chris May, who used to be actie here but I havent seen in a while was close friends with him. I dont remember all the details but they were staying in Putney, group left from trail to go back to camp. Gabe and Heather went to Evarts to get something and were coming back on the center gravel road. Heather got out the drivers seat because steering felt funny. IIRC the panhrad bar had ripped nearly completely off. When it tore the rest of the way all steering was lost. At low speeds it slipped off a trail and rolled a couple times down the mountain.
I was still involve in ECORS when this happened, that makes it 2012-13 ish so...not long ago just 6-7 years or so
That is what I was told.I believe he wasn't wearing a seat belt maybe?

That is correct.I believe he wasn't wearing a seat belt maybe?
So mechanical failures never happen? No uncontrollable or unforeseen accidents ever?
I’m not saying that it is always the victim’s fault. I’m just saying that *someone* *somewhere* along the line F’ed up.
110% FALSEI’ll disagree with this. If someone dies from a traumatic injury someone, somewhere did something wrong.
Its hot a fuck and hasnt rained in weeks. Pretty sure my gravel driveway will be magma when I get home. What is it with dumpster fires around here lately?

I’ve seen a number of deaths from traumatic injuries, I work in EMS. Every death I have seen has been preventable.
