Woman killed watching tire-stacking at topless day

looking at the picture, it looks like maybe it was more than a tire stacking flop. The silver jeep is pushed all the way back against the yellow concrete thing, and there is a tire''doughnut'' mark, flat on the ground ,a few feet from the actual jeep tire that is on its side.

Looks like maybe a throttle stuck to me. Sure is a bad deal though.

JK's are drive by wire. Could very well had been a electrical malfunction of the throttle. Very sad this happened :(

Very sad, prayers for all involved. The Calgary Herald story seems a lot more factual, and the ctvnews one seems very dramatized. Totally different reading about the same event.

IF it happened the way the first article said and the driver did in fact shut the engine off prior to exiting the vehicle, then drive by wire or with a cable throttle shouldn't matter. My guess is that the engine was still running when he took his foot off the clutch and it dumped. Reading the second story, the engine was on and revved. Which story is true? I can't tell by the picture, but that concrete "thing" under the back of the silver Jeep has me wondering if there isn't a WHOLE lot more to this than meet the eye. Tragic all the way around, though.

It sucks because we all mount tires like this. We all stand too close when spotting and sometimes newtons law catches up with us. This could have easily been one if us. Kinda makes you sit back and look at how we do things. I hoping out club will purchase a RTI ramp just for situations like this

I've been tols some local clubs have done this at local parades. I'm sure this will put a stop to it. So sad. My prayers go out to all involved.

A man driving an orange Jeep had just finished doing a “flex” demonstration, during which he pulled up alongside another Jeep and drove his driver’s side front tire up onto the passenger’s side tire of the parked vehicle, said Allan.
his drivers side tire? So was the orange Jeep climbing up the silver Jeep, or some other Jeep? He must have been moving pretty fast to bump that silver JK up the curb and onto the concrete pylon.
Regardless...tragic.

the video shows the girl, sitting on top of the jeep before the crash, he probly went 25 or 30 feet before he hit the jeep, just a bad deal all the way around

you can see in the video the guy tire stacked on one jeep and then his jeep went forward off it and up another jeep parked across the parking lot and then flipped over

here is a pic showing the girl(pretty sure that is her) sitting on other jeep that he hit.

my guess stuck throttle or malfunction throttle or he hit throttle instead of brake after it revved and the jeep took off

I agree with you guys. The accident had nothing to do with the tire stacking. If the throttle stuck, that could have happened turning into the parking lot. Of course, that doesnt make for as good of a story.

i still haven't figured it out... In 4wd low you really can't gain that much speed that quickly.....just stab the brake and it stalls out.... i wasn't there so i can't say what happened... but something just doesn't add up...

Bad situation and tragic to say the least..... But Id say that was much more than a lurch forward and NO WAY the engine was off! (just going from what the video said)

I politely disagree with your post.
4 wheel drive Lo is where you WILL gain the most speed in a shortest distance. Sure you wont reach 80 mph, but you'll get to 15 or 20 in a damn hurry..with torque to move another jeep backwards, flip over and leave a round black mark on the pavement from the sidewall burn out.
