okay so third time now in the last several months a white truck is pulled in our driveway sat there but today someone got out went over to the power meter the wife says turn the power off and turn it back on call the power company they have no record no file no work order in for such a thing they don't have a single clue why and who this guy.... and it's freaking the wife out what do I do

Anyone run in to this, I'm panicking now

Call your landlord and the police

More info on the truck? Logo on the side? He's probably there to read the meter and verify consumption. Has it happened like 3 times in 3 months, about 30 days apart?!?!?! That usually how they find out where all the scrap metal buildings are.

Power company here has been switching out meters (or at least some part of them). My dad said they shut his off for something like 9-12 seconds and that was it. We have Duke Progress here.

Is it in your name or the landlord's? Maybe call them back? Get a license plate #? Call the sheriff, anyway?

Duke energy has nothing on file..wife says white truck guy was shady but she is on standby with phone and protection..I'm awaiting more info from Duke energy as we speak

And landlord knows nothing about it

If you have power and they didn't take anything don't worry about it.
easy for you to say try telling that to a wife who has anxiety and panic disorder...I'm 6min from home. In case of emergency that becomes 2min. The 5.4will scream it's lungs out

Well Duke energy still don't know anything about it. She calmed down bringing our big German Shepherd inside and keeping her sidearm close by. Next time she'll call me when another white truck pulls in. I still think its weird that someone would tamper with our meter and no file with power company by now

Put a lock on the breaker part of it. The power company can access the meter and you can control the breakers

might want to exchange the sidearm for an iphone. Can video or call and very little chance of killing an innocent contractor or one of your kids, or YOU! This seems like a bad situation for a gun to be introduced IMO.

With anxiety and panic attacks should she really have access to a firearm?
HELL NO. I'll say it. And if under any anti psychotics definitely no. I would have to here it from @RatLabGuy but from my first hand experience anything related to a boom stick should be under lock and key. My ex scared me with kitchen utensils. Not for my safety (except when I was sleeping :D) but hers.

That stuff could go south like a carburetor changing altitude. She consistently had to get checked and the "fuel mix" adjusted. When she choose to consistently abuse the whole process is when I threw in the towel.

HELLLLLLLLLLL NOOOOOOOO!

Ok wow there fellas. Y'all don't know my wife and that's ok but I can assure you she's nothing like what you might be thinking. She wouldn't hurt a fly or raise her voice at one nontheless do anything what y'all are saying. Someone has to get past the German Shepherd then through her door for her to use a firearm...by that point me and police would be there.
It's all good got it all sorted out. Duke energy finally called and said they found the current order for new smart meter.
