yota or zuk > jeep

I own a jeep (zj) and a zuki, and have ridden and driven a few yotas.

Here's my take:
-Yota= Bullet proof drivetrain, not a ton of torque stock, but enough to get the job done and then some. Interiors are cramped, body panels are very sensitive to damage. The suspension (on a solid axle) is stupid simple, works very well and is easy to modify. But, they cost too much, as many yota owners think that thier poo doesn't stink when it come time to sell a rig, or bone stock truck for that matter.

-Zuki= My personal favorite. Gutless motors, crappy (OEM) carbs, but probably the most fun of the group. The body on one can take a fair beating, and like the toyota, the suspension is stupid simple and reliable (although the damn thing rides like a cardboard box on wheels). Short wheelbase is both an advantage and disadvantage. Cheap and easy to modify, and typically cheap to buy, although prices can vary pending on condition (how "pretty" it is).

-Jeep (xj/zj)= The bastards of the group. Good oem suspension, good motors, 20X heavier than that fat woman at the buffet. Somewhat more difficult to work on, lift parts are usually higher (especially for a zj), and poopy oem axles. Cheap to buy (can be had less than $1000). They ride tons better than the other two, body can take a good punishing, but they are a damned unibody. They catch a bad rep, but hey, it was cheap, beat the piss out of it. If it breaks, buy another.

Independent suspension > solid axle (before you roll your eyes go ask Shannon Campbell what he thinks of Independent suspensions)

Well it was a solid axle rig that won KOH this year:D ifs has its place but most factory design ifs systems are worthless.

how about we place the burden of proof on you then. why didn't they choose a toyota or suzuki then? tell me it's advantages over the Hummer in stock form.
because they can fit a bunch of people and gear in it....and its very capable....but not the best for wheelin. for strickly wheelin go with a zuk or yota. easy bud.

We should settle this once and for all. Everyone meet at URE. Lets draw a line in the dirt. Everyone line up and see who can piss further.

Then lets go to Harlan and see who's gets the best time on Lower Rock Garden.

Vehicles are to be totally stock with the addition of lockers only.

All i know is that you sound like a bunch of butt hurt noobs because you realize my Hummer, excuse me HMMWV, is far superior to any Jeep, Toyota or Suzuki. I've got to go outside and do some real work but when I return expect a sweet ass pic of my Hummer in action. I think once you guys see it in action you'll realize you're all wrong. Until then, good day sir.

hahahaha this thread is great.........

LOL

I saw 4 guys climb our of a hummer at the flats, after trying to park off the side of the tail, yet still blocking it.

Then once they went to leave, i thought the motor was going to blow trying to pull back on the trail to leave. Heavy pigs and crappy 37" tires didn't work well together.

HAHAHA I love this thread. Who cares what someone else thinks is better.

McCracken, We all now know, you have the coolest hummer in the world, Funny thing is, I have the coolest toyota in the world, a Jeep guy in this thread has the coolest Jeep in the world, Chevy guy has coolest chevy, sami guy... well.. looks like he has the coolest sami in the world. Zip ya britches, go smoke a cig, and stop trying to ou tpiss everyone.

I could start a thread saying my Toyota is the best, and all other makes and models are trash, and I would catch a lot to. You my friend, are pissing yourself off, while we are laughing

actually,to me this thread sucks. If you got it...wheel it. I was villified and crusified when I made a statement about the "go big or go home"mentality of some folks.Told I was bringing divisivness in the wheeling community.Doesn't this thread kind of rank the same? Let me put it to you this way.My rig(m38) was designed for military use.Same as a hummvee.Different time period and different jobs yet both served the military and did their jobs well. Now the Land Rover was based on the Willys/Ford design of WW2 and has served numerous military units in lots of countries for years.Must have been something right about that design. Now you yota boys just sit back and listen to this shit.Look at your coveted straight front axle..what is that you have there.A closed knuckle ,king pin axle that mirrors a dana25 to a tee where my king pins will allmost fit. Your birfield is actually a Rzeppa joint I have in my axle.Coincidence..I think not.Waite! You sammi drivers look out.I see king pins, closed knuckles, transfer cases and axles offset to passenger side like a...WW2 MB/GPW.Wow...now there ya go.Just like the pyramids in south america and the ones in Giza, guess the aliens landed in Japan and England and spread the word to Toyota and L.R. engineers what Probst at Bantam started in 1940. Point is they were all designed by engineers somewhere and with all things human made, have their own limitations and strong points. Wheel what you got.It all breaks sometimes. I don't give one rats ass what you drive. You break,I help fix.If I break, you help fix.Simple as that.Comparing a Hummvee/hummer to a suki ? Really? I don't see anybody comparing a 38 inch cut Murray lawn mower to a Grasshopper zero turn.

I'd honestly pick my tj on 31's over a H1 on the trails. I've seen hummers and URE, Ive seen them on you-tube, and I've flew by them creepin down the highway. They are 90k of crap. Ask the military guys, the HMMWV doesn't even have a proper park gear, so good luck finding wood chocks that will hold that fat pig in place on an inclined trail. And technically an H1's suspension and overall chassis doesn't differ from the HMMWV, the main difference is replacement parts because when weighted down with armor their stock suspension falls apart. Don't get me wrong they have cool stuff like a sealed and raised drivetrain, big tires, tire inflation, and all kinds of other doodads, but none of that stuff will get that thing over a tall mound of dirt or through some narrow trees.:driver:
