yota or zuk > jeep

HMMWVs are front wheel drive primarily. I have driven plenty of them and I would still choose my yota.

What would you like to know? I mean they're used by the military and why would they chose such an inferior vehicle to haul our troops in. Before that they used Jeeps so it looks like to me it's Hummers then Jeeps then foreign garbage.

Diesel engines > 4 poppers
Independent suspension > solid axle (before you roll your eyes go ask Shannon Campbell what he thinks of Independent suspensions)

lolololololololololll!!!!!!!!!!!

It's like he just found Youtube and wants tio show it to everyone.

We've seen it.............................

I got busy this weekend and couldn't get back to what I was wanting to show. I can't see youtoob videos at work but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that none of those "recovery" videos are of stock suzukis vs. stock hummers. this brings me to one of my points, stock vs. stock it's gonna stomp a mudhole in it but modified...well, that's a different story. i can go and modify any vehicle and it be better than another. i could take one of those hill killer buggies and put a toyota grill on it and could tell everyone my totyota is better than X. it's not an apples to apples comparison. A lot of you are deluded.

Cool.

So how much was a H1 and in what year?

There is no way to have an apples to apples comparison between an H1 Zuk and JK.

125k for an H1 new?

12k for a new Zuk?

40k for a new Rubi JKU?

And none were available new at the same time. Maybe the H1 and Zuk?

But if I gave you 40k today and said you had to buy and build a rig capable of driving 8 hours on the highway, do 4 days ta Harlan and get you and a friend home, which would you pick? No trailers, carry what you may need (spares/supplies/gear/tools), pay for your own fuel.

83-85 TOYOTA truck ........and 20K would be more than enough $$

I guess I'm soft. No way I'm spending 8 hours there and 8 hours back in a 83-85 Toyota pickup.

I guess the bottom line is we all have different priorities, needs and budgets and therefore pick different vehicles.

Have you ever ridden in a HMMWV? I would still choose the 1st gen yota. At least you would have a radio and could hear yourself think. HMMWV seats are about 2" thick and after about an hour, my butt bones settle thru the padding and are riding on the aluminum seat mount.

With 40k I would go totally ape :poop: on a good used 4 door Taco.

why no trailer??? hell I havn't got 20K in my tow rig, trailer, and my Zuk, and I can do most anything anybody else can, and on 33s, and my silverado rides smooth and gets decent fuel milage,

It's just an arbitrary set of requirements.

I don't want a trailer. I don't want to store. maintain, register, insure or park a trailer. It's more stuff to keep up with and in my mind, isn't worth the hassle. It makes sense for a lot of guys. You throw a trailer into the equation and it changes drastically: no longer a need to be street legal, no real worries about reliability, etc. It's a different question altogether.

Why would an 80 series break an axle shaft?

It was a joke.

You're going to do 16 hours round trip, on a highway, through the mountains in an 80 series? Maybe my memory is going, but I wouldn't get excited about that trip in the vehicle I'm picturing.

Dunno what 80 you have ridden in but mine is quiet as a mouse on the highway and has no problem running 80 mph. All from the comfort of auto climate control, a good stereo and soft leather seats. I have room for my two dogs and can sleep in it when I get there as well. I've tried a ton of configurations and haven't come across one that does everything as well as this one, built locked 3rd gen runner, tj, wj, Tacoma, and a fullsize bronco. They all had their prospective things they were good at but a good well maintained 80/lx450 is solid as a vault and rides like a Lexus should on a set of ome coils/shocks
