WTF Wilmington PD

we're gangsta like that

don't f*** around in wilmington, haha

-Erik <--- sees all sorts of crazy undercover vehicles in wilmington

I saw a blue ext cab short bed PSD on 38s and a buncha fishing stickers turn into a blinding ray of blue LEDs the other day, and my buddy called me and said he saw a lifted Ram hit the blue lights the other day.

And then there's the Dodge Caravan undercover...

don't forget the numerous buicks!

haven't seen the undercover mustang lately though... there was a cool as hell black cop always driving it for a while, then it just sort of dissappeared....

Sanford Area

Also saw one one of the new Chargers...Solid Black w/ tinted windows...saw it on US1 w/ blue lights had someone pulled over...I believe it's a NCHP car...watch out around Sanford area !!

theres caravans, impalas, malibus, a few late model 90 jimmies, chargers, mustangs, the truck you are talking about (the blue one), theres also a maroon z71... all sorts of cars in wilmington that are unmarked

Saw that one sitting at the HP station in Sanford earlier this week. Must be them.

Saw a Nice maroon Charger in Clayton the other day, it was NCSHP

they are taking delivery of '07 Tahoes now to, they are SWEET lookin ! Black w/black alloys, pretty intimidating looking.

i live right next to the troopers station in raleigh, thats where all their cars get delivered before going to the fleet. They had about 300 chargers, those went to the the fleet, then they got 400 more waiting to be turned into cruisers. Colors are Crimson, silver, white, and black, and the only ones that are getting marked are 50% of the black ones says the station

I saw him, he gave me and my girlfriend a seat belt ticket last week while i was on the way to court to pay my speeding ticket!

Not cool in my mind, its going to be 2 points on your license this summer WTF!

while traveling west on 40,around 78 mph, a motorcycle cop, which i did not see coming, pulls along passengers side of my work van. I looked over and he points to his speedometer and looked at me in a WTF kind of way. I looked down at mine then back at him with a oh s@#$ kind of look.i nodded my head and threw up a THANK YOU wave. He went on around and man was i happy. I owe him a donut and coffee if i ever see him again. That was cool indeed.

The maroon Z71 is no more. It's been gone for about 2 years. They have a newer style green/grey Z71 to replace it. The undercover mustang is still around. Saw it the other day. Those Z71 Tahoe's there driving are nice to. Theres some other stuff there driving undercover that I won't disclose but you'd laugh at the sheer thought of it

hell the best is when they set up a constrution zone and a officer sits on the dozer with a radar gun and just clocks people then other officers pull them over when they pass. i mean i can't say i blame them. wilmington is one of the most dangerous places to drive in the nation.

i got nailed on i95 in florida in a similar way. they had a guy dressed like a construction worker using a piece of surveying equipment that housed the radar.

cary police will also shoot radar off the cary pkwy bridge over the us1 work zone and drop bikes in on you from the entrance ramps.

what's the purpose of having all of these ridiculous unmarked vehicles? i can understand having some for true undercover operations, but last i checked traffic violations don't fall in that category.

i also fail to see the point of a lifted tax dollar wasting gas hog. if you want/need something off the map, get a damn honda accord or something.

Why is it not cool that he wrote you a ticket for breaking the law?
I can understand letting your speed drift up a little or not noticing the limit changed on the same road, but to decide not to do something that takes 2-3 seconds, can save your life, AND keep you out of a ticket, I don't understand.
Especially with the vehicles we drive and how and where we drive them.

while i certainly can't fault an officer for doing his job, i think the seatbelt law is ridiculous. it's not the government's place to enforce such things. not wearing your seatbelt poses no danger to anyone else. speeding, etc. can.
they like to show off the vehicles they seize
i would hope that's not the reasoning. selling/auctioning them off would make just as good of an example to criminal, and create some $$ for other things.

I agree that auctioning them off would be better, but I also think letting people know that they can and will seize property for criminal conduct is a pretty good idea. I've seen a few vehicles being used by the police with decals advertising that it was seized. Now if they would just take a few crack houses and make them police stations :)

The only siezed vehicles I have ever seen used by a police force were used as DARE vehicles. Never for patrol. I am not really for or against unmarked rigs. The only thing they can get me for anymore is my speed drifting up on me. Now that I am on two wheels it happens more often. I also think that wilmington has the lifted trucks due to the beaches and marshes that sometimes need to be patrolled.
