I snapped one picture of it from the trail. When you walk up to it and look in with a flash light you can see the seam of coal that they were going after plus all of the old supports that are sitting in there. It drops elevation by probably 40 feet as far as you can see in there. There was no draft coming out of the shaft so I can guarantee that the air in there would put you to sleep forever.

These are a few pics from our group. We climbed the ridge of the mountain for what felt like a trail strait up for an hour. Once we got to the top it was a wild view of the power lines that stretch across the mountains. I have some videos but those are going to take some work to post!

This is the only picture I have from a connector trail we took after the mountain ascent. Off camber, loose rock, and a giant rock at the top of this climb about took all of our lunch money. George drove Don's JK up the hill like a rock bouncer giving hell with the AC blasting. I heard him say his nipples were like diamonds wheeling the that thing...o_O

Man that was a lot of fun.
Was scrolling through some of those photos and thinking, every time I see a shot of Trey or Kenneth or Corey, I was right behind them and went over every damn thing they did.
I'm still getting used to being so much larger than before. Just wow.
Harlan is no joke. What a blast.
 
Great pictures! Almost glad I couldn't make it as I would have been the smallest rig out there! :D
