Ive got an old 350 (4 bolt main FTMFW...yeehaw) laying around in the way. Might be good to stick in a vehicle and run, but definitely good as a complete core.

Throw it on craigslist.

Get a text.
Can you send pictures.

Sure. Here ya go.
Can you please send pics without the oil pan to verify 4 bolt main.(1 of the pics was of the casting number which could verify)
Sure (its only 14 bolts and the battery impact makes quick work.)
Ok. that's perfect. You are a long way away from me. Not sure when I can make the drive.
Google maps says you are 8 hours away.

WTF?
Why?

CL is definitely good for some entertainment and frustration.....

1) That's why I no longer sell used parts...I'd sooner scrap them or keep them in storage and offer them for free when I see someone that can actually use them, than deal with used part low ballers/tire kickers
2) Tell him you can ship an engine anywhere you want in the country for $350ish.

but maybe its a vette motor. those seem to be everywhere

No it’s a super secret experimental nascar motor that was would outrun ford and dodge.Nascar wouldn’t let em use it so they were suppose to be crushed but uncle Billie bob joe bob saved one of em from the crusher. Its a piece of nascar history.

Thats the damn shame.
I said in the ad, just a wore out truck motor. Bought it for a core then bought a new crate motor.
$200 complete.

I mean crap it seems like a no brainer. Im about over the $200. Im about to just toss it.

You have to be kidding last time I looked at one of those, there's more than 4 bolts under the pan?

But when you meet said person half way, they need all the "blueprints", compression tests, mileage, oil sample (lab work done), and want to hear it run "out" of said vehicle!

I you want a 4 bolt main cheap (knowing it more than likely needs work), search a local yard or "buck up buttercup", don't jerk around people who have it at a good price!

Seems like the cheaper priced stuff brings out the biggest idiots.
Ebay is the worse cause they know they can get their money back regardless, and they use that it like its Walmart.Too damn lazy or illerate to read the description to find out if that's what you need, thats cool,we'll force the seller to refund your money. He should have made sure you knew what you needed.

The selling business has gotten pretty bad.Folks either cant or wont read or reading comprehension isn't their strongest attribute.

I get it all the time. Most recent is a guy looking for a trailer that I have. I was asking $45k, he tells me it isn't worth that because it is military, and he just sold a military trailer that the gov paid $300k+ for and he got $45k. Mine would have been $75k 'new' but it was never issued to the military and is only 4 years old.

I know he has the $$$, but his main excuse for not buying a trailer for $40k is because it would cost too much to ship it to Washington state. Dang dude, if you are going to spend $40k what's another $3-4k for shipping? Didn't matter though, I sold it to a guy in Ohio haha.

That chaps my ass the most.People bragging about what they sold something for and then act like they don't have any money or cant afford something.

What I love is when you get the people that say:

I want to trade your x for my y, my y is worth more than your x so you are getting a good deal. Then when you tell them to sell their y and bring you cash asking price and pocket the extra, you never hear from them again.

My rule of thumb is: if I have to Google search the area code you're calling/texting from, don't waste your time and don't waste mine. I've got every one from GA to TN memorized already.
So while I agree with this sentiment, keep in mind nobody uses landlines anymore, and take their number when they move out of state.
I still use my same number I got in NC 15 years ago, up here in NE Maryland. So this rule doesn't really hold up well anymore.

I can't tell how many times I have called to talk to somebody about something LOCAL on CL and they say, "Why are you calling me from NC?"
