Buggy Hauler trailers

Sounds like you got a great deal on that trailer. I will add a plug for my trailer in case anyone else looks at this thread and wants to see what else is out there. I have an 18' "buggy" hauler from Lawrimore trailers. Just like most people, my only complaint is I wish it was longer. I bought it off a buddy for $1750 but he bought it brand new the year before for only about $2500. Very good price compared to the PJ and alike trailers. It pulls great empty and loaded.

Figured it was time for an update...
I've been patiently waiting on my trailer to get finished. 3 weeks turned into 5 and currently around 8 weeks. I have missed 2 wheeling trips so far that were scheduled. I chose this manufacturer due to their shorter lead time compared to others.
It's supposed to be ready, for a fact, this week. I will for sure be looking this trailer over with a fine tooth comb at this point.

Time will tell...

If you want someone to stop by and check on it,while inquiring about a similar build..let me know

Thanks @Ron, no need for that
There was an axle shortage from the axle manufacturer in late Dec, a week long vacation and a death in the family recently.
I expect it to be ready this week, otherwise I will be forced to make a decision about whether or not I want to continue waiting.

Some people would show up with a truck and trailer if it meant riding shotgun on a wheeling trip. Just sayin...

Just picked it up.
Red Hot Welding builds a pretty sweet trailer. Welds look good and the attention to detail is much better than some out there. They had an acceptable delay in building it, no biggie really.
Paint quality is really good and most importantly, it was built exactly as I requested it to be.

Nice! What length?

But really...what'd it set you back?

So they are definitely cheaper than Kaufman.

It's not really apples to apples, but if you divide the cost by the length, I think mine was only 2.31 more per foot.

4800/20=240
6300/26=242.31

Different options and stuff too, so there's that. 4800 is still a damn good price though. I like it!

Been looking at anti theft items for my trailer. I had a killer coupler lock on the old one, but this one isn't set up the same.
I'm gonna get creative with chain and a $$$ lock in the meantime.
Also, I added $xxxx worth of theft insurance and placed the trailer on my auto policy. Which in reality, is probably the best thing to do

Another popular thing to do is to remove the handle from the jack when you park it. Keep it in your truck toolbox.

I never thought of that. Having it set up with a pin for easy removal/install would make that a very easy and cheap way to add some prevention.

That’s all we can do. Slow them down long enough for us to get a shot off.

However, just like removing the coupler, that won't stop a thief from bringing their own coupler, jack handle, etc to use.
Just gotta keep from being the lowest hanging fruit when it comes to thieves...

Wish I saw this earlier!
I would of been glad to quote you a trailer.
Yours turned out great though!

I usually leave my excavator on my trailer and turn the cab to one side or the other and stick the bucket in the ground or where you can't get to the jack handle. Maybe you could try that :D

For real though, I've been eyeballing a coupler lock. One of the first things I did was add it to my insurance along with my lawnmower, tractor, and excavator.

Just remove the coupler & handle all together.

I also park mine way off the road, so it's not easily visible by traffic.
