went to doctor...1st in 21years, oh boy

Also think outside the box about every little thing you do.

I went to chiro, regular doc, and ortho/sports medicine doc to find out what was wrong with my lower back.

After driving for an hour, I could hardly walk, and would be hunched over for 10-15 mins until I could hobble around enough to get straight.

Long story short,

It was the worn out seat in the work suburban that was misaligning my spine into my pelvis.

No matter how I adjusted it, it never helped. Switched to a different work truck, and problem disappeared.

Just be open minded to any little thing may be making your condition worse. Try different changes but one at a time for two weeks or so at a time.

Hopefully all the changes will be productive and help.

I experience this too. For a long time I couldn’t drive my 05 Ram because it hurt too bad. I replaced the seat cushion, didn’t help much. Then I replaced both front seats with seats from a 4th gen 2015 Ram. Better, but still gives me pain. I think it is just the geometry of the cockpit for me. I can run 5-7 miles, workout, work in the yard, but nothing causes me pain like driving my truck. To the point I’m considering replacing it.

My grandfather asked me when I was a kid do you know what doctors and thieves have in common? They both were masks. Stuck with me and I believe there is some truth to it. Was hit head on by a drunk driver 14 years ago. All the bones in my right foot were broken and out of my foot. I have 2 plates and 12 screws now. Told me I would be on disability that I would use a cane the rest of my life. I work full time never drew a dime of disability and I jog at least 8 miles every day with little to no pain so hang in there Marty and don't believe life as you know it is over.

Thanks bud, I'm John btw lol. I don't like doctors either but now I felt need to see some kinda specialist.

Worn out, Bent, Crooked, Truck seats, was the straw that broke my back! Been driving dump & concrete trucks for 20 years, with little problem. Then went to work at a Rental place. The Tractor they had, was a spare Mack truck, with worn out seat. The Tandam Mack, with a bent & worn out seat, had over a Million miles on it. Even with adding cushions, it Hurt to drive it. Their small truck was a 89 [new] Superduty. Bench seat & a F450. Not much better. I remember if I drove the tractor for 45 minutes or more, I would be paralyzed! Would take me 4-5 minutes to get out of the truck! During my employment there, is when my back finally went into Spasms. O, and I had turned 42! You know you fall apart at 40. If I had realized at the time what Ruined me, I "Might" have sued them! Especially, when they got the Attitude of, Well if you can't do your job, we'll have to replace you. :flipoff:

I've seen good and bad things about chiropractors.
But you guys that say .... " same chiropractor for years ..... for the same problem" ..... are beating your own argument.
I know too many people who have to keep going back for the same thing, over n over n over n over.

That being said, my wife did see one for a neck and shoulder problem that was fixed in 2-3 visits and and month or 2 of at home stuff.

the car seat thing has a lot of truth to it. Sold our 03 Expedition which had a horrible horrible drives seat, otherwise was a great vehicle. Bought this 95 Suburban 4x4 and somehow the drivers seat still looks and feels like new...plush leather with full cushioning and support...wow what a difference driving this vs the expedition as far as that goes. We took an hour trip in it and wasn't nearly as bad getting out compared to the expo so that will seem to be a little help as far as driving.

One of my college friends became a chiropractor, the school he went to advocated placing the spine back into proper position (sometimes over several visits, depending on how bad) but addressing the cause of the problem. Most of it is core exercises, proper posture, changing bad habits, etc. Most of his clients visit a few times for adjustments, address the problem(s), and move on with their lives, this is good for his clients (not the best business model). He started his practice over 10 years ago (at first he was hand to mouth), today he is doing very well and helps vets, law, and fire probono. He also tries to help people get off pain meds by correcting the problem instead of masking it (dual stabilizers).

He's a good friend and I wished he didn't live 7 hours away, sometimes my back gets "out-of-line" and I give him a call for advice. Most of it is simple exercises and pay attention to how you move.

I read your first few post and lightly skimmed the rest. That being said if this has already been covered, sorry I'm late to party.

Disclaimer: I am NOT a doctor and this may NOT be Right for You.

It sounds like your back is already pretty tweaked out and may be past this point; however, you may be able to get back to the point that this will help. Talk to your chiropractor first and make sure this is going to complement their work before you start being counterproductive to what they are adjusting for you. All that said, here is a video on youTube that may be helpful to you and your situation. I have been watching a lot of this channel since Jody started the health thread in effort to make sure I am lifting properly. These videos do a great job of going into detail about what's going on, identifying common issues, and tips for doing the movements better.

The stretches in that video helped me tremendously when I did something to my back right after Christmas. Some of it I knew but the rest was welcome info.

How expensive is health care in Romania?
1. Visit family
2. Slip and fall on boat.
3. Visit doctor
4. Profit?
lol, I don't think so, not me.
Living in Romania is actually like stupid cheap, and not cheap as in low living. You can live pretty darn good over there even in the big city like Bucharest for $2000 a month...high rent in a nice townhouse in Bucharest (the capital big city) is like 900 so you can figure the rest lol. Back in 1991 when we were adopted, they built my mother a house for little over $8000 dollars including the land. Not a cheapo house either. 28 years later he says hasn't changed much if your out in the suburbs or rural counties/towns. For the most part, money stretches a lot further in Europe in general speaking compared to the US. Since you brought it up, figured I'd give some info.
