C'mon you apes, do you wanna READ forever?!

Well looky what showed up!

The Tracer thing was the better of several nicknames in Boot Camp that kind of stuck around. So when I finished the first draft(A touch over two years ago!), I slapped that on there with a different title as a joke.

Then I forgot to remove the Tracer part when I submitted it to publishers. And my publisher ended up using it.

I just wished I'd 'accidentally' left the 'Badass American Novel' part as well...

So an update.

Right now, with 24 reviews, the book is sitting at 4.6/5 stars on Amazon. (Darn you Mr. THREE STAR GUY and your super weird review bringing me down!)

But that's pretty ballin' and a big freaking deal. Because many, many, many books never get that many reviews or score that high.

So, from the top, middle, and bottom of my heart, thank you all.

Regardless of if you read it, bought it, bought numerous copies(you guys are insane!), read the draft, supported me, or just didn't tell me to get lost posting this thread here. Thank you.

Seriously, I could never have had a first book do so well without the help of NC4X4.

You guys rock.

So when do I get to read the 3rd one? I'm (not so) patiently waiting. :D

One of the more difficult things I never thought of when I started all this craziness, was writing the back book cover. It's supposed to be less than 250 words, and intriguing without being too revealing. And I find it almost harder than writing the actual book.

But, here's the sequel's... freshly finished, and not yet approved by anyone but me.

***

After retiring from outlawing, Jedidiah Huckleberry Smith just wanted to be left alone in Wyoming with his guns and regrets.

But then he discovered an entrance to a lost world, a place full of grand adventure, as well as spectacular dangers from both prehistoric dinosaurs and a race of savage ape’s intent on conquest.

Now, a new fort has been established on the other side, and a strange civilization of humans and dinosaurs have been located. The people are descendants from another time in history, long trapped in prehistory, and with them a fragile alliance is created.

But will it be enough as Jed faces vengeance from enemies both new and old?

Will his savagery and cunning keep him and his love alive?

Or will they die, on a mountain of fired brass, amidst the guttural bellows of barbaric apes and roars of monstrous dinosaurs?

Jed doesn’t know, but he’s always willing to shoot first and figure out the rest afterwards.

Does that sound awesome/intriguing/delightful enough for you to actually spend money on?

3rd book please! Just re read the first two. Are you still selling signed copy's? Love them.
LOL. I'm actually working on it right now.

I'm still selling signed copies. I actually have to ship out some more this week. There was a GoodRead's giveaway that had over 1k people sign up for 10 signed copies.

(I'm going to hope some of those 1,253 entrants will buy/read/tell their friends about the book.)

Is the second one available somewhere? I crushed the first one in 2 sittings and loved it.
Sorry I'm just now responding, I took a new job and basically lost my ability to surf NC4X4 until I get out of training. :)

The second one is with the publisher/editor, I'm hoping it will be released in a couple of months. Some people have ever so kindly offered to 'proof read' it and give me feedback so I sent it to them. If you're interested, PM me your email. I got a wordfile I can send you, which I believe can actually be converted to be read on kindle. (I'm a bit foggy on the how though.)

But man, that's pretty sweet on how fast you read the first one! I'm glad you enjoyed it! That really strokes my ego and lights a fire under me to get the 3rd one finished.

I’ll shoot you a pm. I’d love to get a chance to “proofread” it. First one was a great mix of what I like. Like Louis L’amour mixed with Robert Henlien.

These available in audio books? Never been able to sit and read a book but they sound interesting.

Those being two of my favorite authors, it's quite a compliment!

Unfortunately, not yet. I think sales and interest is enough for there to be one, but I don't know of the timeline yet. :(

Got some good news at 1:46am today.

West of Prehistoric will be offered in audio format soon.

Many thanks to all of you for helping make this possible. Getting my book in audio has long been a goal since my mom is legally blind, and being a hereditary illness, I'll most likely be blind as well by 60. At one point, I planned on making my own audio book for her, but the learning curve was pretty steep and I didn't have time for it. (Even though I'm told I have a rather sexy, deep, masculine voice made for the radio.) So, again. Thank you to everyone who ordered a signed copy, read it on kindle unlimited, left a review to draw in more readers, and generally didn't kick me off this forum for this thread. Thank you. Very, very much.

Random bit of news and an ask of the community.

Still waiting on the audio book to come out. I didn't get much of a choice in the narrator... the publisher basically picked out the guy, sent me the audio sample, and said "This is the guy doing you're book." But he sounds pretty good.

Now for the ask - if you have FB and feel up to it, add me. Author Erik Testerman. I'm running a giveaway this week for a signed copy, and I'll look pretty stupid if only a couple people click the like button to enter it. :p

I also posed the 'book to win' with a FAL. So there's that book/gun porn combo to eyeball.
