Lots of interesting news today

Every Dentist that doesn't golf apparently

Granted, it WOULD have been a cooler story if homeboy took out the kitty cat bare handed like the guy in Colorado last year
I like his humility
"Kauffman said he was reluctant to come forward publicly at first because he felt uncomfortable getting attention for a "situation of happenstance" and he "would never be able to live up to the reputation."

"The story is bigger than my puny form," he said."

Why have humans made it their life's work to encroach and destroy? Why not stop the encroachment and destruction now? It's as good a time as any?

Also, anyone who poses with a dead animal that had no chance against a gun, with a stupid grin, while being the very reason the animal has less place to live and is losing it's thousands of years habitat.....well they are the absolute worst
So what are you doing to help us convert to an economy that requires no expansion and no growth?
Also would you let that cat just hang out around your house?

This a little bit different but i know a guy who has rental homes when someone quit paying rent he will get a eviction notice but if they dont move out by then he will go and move in the house with them and they will call the cops on him and they cant make him leave because he owns the home and they are squatters because they aren't paying rent and they will move out in a coupler days then. ha said he has done this a few times to get people out. He said you should see the look on people faces when they come home and he is stretched out on their couch and eating their food. He said it is priceless. I think he is short a few fries in his happy meal but it works i guess.

I wonder how this would hold up in court.

Would be pretty easy to move our economy back to city living vs suburbia. Granted it would take a few decades. But the federal government purposely pushed it.

They tell us it isn't possible. The only way for the world to survive is to continue to "grow". The government pushes growth because they need it to pay their bills. Peter Schiff publicly called it what it is this week, the world's largest ponzi scheme.

Well, first thing is that unrestrained and uncontrolled growth is not sustainable.
Even nore unustainable is uncontrolled suburbia.
Why do we need this growth and expansion?
Tear down and rebuild, quit pushing further out.
'expansion'and 'growth' can come in many forms....efficency, reliability, more stable supply chains, focus on current needs (we don't need 10,000 undergrad colleges 'teaching' sociology for future insurance salesmen, for example), brick and mortar is moved online...this is just quick thoughts...I'm sure we can do better.

What do we ultimately, long term gain from constant habitat dstruction? We have laws that say you can't build 2 feet from your neighbors house, as to give them room for activities.
We can do the same for wildlife.

If only there was a way we could eliminate like half the worlds population…..

I dont know the law. They quit paying rent they have no legal claim to be there. But if you own the house it is your right to be there if you want. My opinion it is just like buying a car on credit you own it as long as you pay for it but once you quit paying for it you no longer own the right to it so they repo it when they find it.

Problem is that you have bleeding hearts in government and the judicial system that insist that they shouldn't be "forced" to pay what they cannot afford due to Covid, "uncontrolled landlord greed", or "I just don't agree with the Capitalist society so I want to live like a socialist and I expect you to pay for it."

Same people that bitch about "Rent's too damn high" and "How come I can afford rent in a $1500 a month place, but they won't give me a $800 a month mortgage?" don't seem to understand the value of saving towards a down payment for a house. But for a while, we had banks that were "predatory lending" to folks with artificially inflated home values. This got people into way more home than they could legitimately afford, driving up home values, but opening up a bunch of foreclosures and short sales. As home values go up, so do taxes. It's a little slower of a process, but eventually the tax man cometh and he wants his share. When a house is rented out, the landlord either has to absorb that cost or raise rent accordingly. Perpetual renter just thinks that his rent should stay the same from year to year, but it can't. It's just not sustainable. Landlord takes on the risk that their properties are occupied and making rents. If they don't, the mortgage, taxes, upkeep and incidentals still have to be paid.

They have it set up against the working man. Things have changed so much since covid. I think the government was waiting on something like this to happen so it would easier to tighten their control on us.
I will tell you something we did around 30 years ago. My stepfather bought a mobile home from this guy and then he wouldn't move out of it. So we got our trucks ready and showed up about 8 in the morning and started to move the trailer the first thing we did was cut the phone line going to the mobile home. (Before cell phones) So he couldn't call the police on us. We cut he power and water and phone from the trailer and had it unblocked and hooked to the truck before he woke up. We woke him up and told him to get out he didnt get out so we started pulling it down the road his friends he was partying with stared bailing out as we went down the driveway he bailed out of the trailer about 1/4 mile from we got it from. He called a day later to see if he could get his furiture. We let him. That is one of several stories i have from growing up here in Harlan, Ky. I have few from shoot outs and police chases and bootlegging and several other stories i wont talk about on here.

Ooof. Y’all should look into rental laws. All of these actions are illegal. And no owners can’t access a residence being rented any time they want.

In my opinion, a person living in a dwelling with past due rent is the same as a car thief, shop lifter etc. Those folks go to jail, why shouldn't the squatters?

Shitty judges! Seems they think housing is a right. I’ve had it happen, took too long to get them out. Lucky for us the lady did come back later and pay for some reason? This lady wAs so good for years

Those judges should let people live in their properties rent free then while paying a mortgage on the property. Bunch of morons making laws.

Glad you posted that. I haven't seen it since the last page when @RatLabGuy posted it :flipoff2:

$5 of unleaded would absolutely get the job done
It would but let me tell you how that'll play out.My FlL had rentals,he tried to evict a couple one time and they finally just up and left leaving behind some of their stuff. He put their stuff in one room, changed the locks and cut the power off to the place. Catch up the rent and you can have your stuff.Got a call one morning about 3am that that particular house was on fire.House w the peoples stuff in it burned to the ground. He got sued for the replacement cost of the contents that the former tenants left behind.Best I can remember it was long list of "stuff" that was lost in the fire.He wouldnt settle out of court and lost.Cost him a few 1000 $$'s and that was back in 1991/92 before the world lost it's mind.

I don't know the laws on renting but i know most here who has rental property is doing contracts now. They say is they don't pay their rent they can get them out in 30 days now. That is what i am told. You could get away with a lot here in the past not sure what you can get away with now. I have a old house in Cumberland. That i need to sell because i will never fix it up or rent it because of the BS that goes with renting. Will let it rot to the ground before i fix it up.

My grandad used to take the doors off of his houses when nonpayers wouldn't move along. Folks find somewhere to go when it's dead of winter and they don't have a front or back door.
I know of a guy that cut a hole in an exterior wall with a chainsaw back in the day (doors can be replaced)...was paid in full within 1 week and word spread across his other rentals like wildfire!

On one hand I'm always happy for anything that puts a lawyer out of a job.
On the other this is really handing over an awful lot of power for the butts to really take over.
