let's see those JEEPS

Not a @amcjeepman level (but I also have a 70’AMC AMX) :D

I've never liked how hot the Jeep ran during the Summer. It runs exactly how I like it to run so there isn't room for timing adjustment to help with heat. Nice big aluminum radiator as well. Multiple old gearheads I trust kept telling me it was "that big 'ol winch" in front of the grill.

Reluctantly I removed the Warn 8274 winch and covered the frame with an aluminum cover after having it powder coated gloss black to match the Warn front bumper. Gasp - I may like this look better! So far the Jeep seems to be running cooler in this heat. To swap back and forth with the winch isn't really all that hard so I can always run it in the Winter if I so choose. Let's face it - it's just for looks anyway.

Here she is after a quick run in 91 degree weather averaging about 65 mph with some stop and go traffic here and there. Temp stayed perfect the entire time.

As much as I like 8274s, and CJ’s, and 8274s on a CJ, I do think it looks better without it because then you can actually see the grill. It’s such a clean Jeep, hate to hide it. Plus, it works better!

Picked up a 1999 5 speed XJ to waste money on.

Has a 6 in long arm lift, front ratcheting locker of some sort, 8.8 with discs

It did have 35*12.5*15 MTs (which are for sale now) but now on 5.9 wheels and 255*85*16 AT4w

Lots of little things to do, but solid overall. 229k miles and still showing good oil pressure

I'm really wanting to build a rat rod one day, looks awesome man.
I had started saving parts to build one. Then I found this one for sale in UT. It was easier for me to buy verses build.

This is out on the parkway outside Galax VA the other week. A little better look at it.
