Are they worth the hype?

My wife wears On Clouds for work that her Doctor pays for and she likes them, but hers squeak like crazy. I have realized that I am on my feet either walking and standing to keep from sitting all the time and my feet are starting to feel it. This past Friday, I was out of work due to my lower back (much better now) but I'm not so sure not having the foot support I need in a shoe, isn't causing issues with my hips and back. So I want to invest in some nice shoes for work and for walking/running. I have flat feet and I tend to favor my left foot when standing and put most of my weight on it for the most part.

I am looking at the On Cloud Cloud tilt. Of course I want something that looks good ( I know this might be up for debate), but also lightweight and comfortable.

My wife is a kindergarten teacher, so is on her feet most of the day. She had foot issues and went to a specialist. One of the recommendations was to switch to Hokas. She did that, and the Hokas made a big difference for her.

Find a fleet feet near you and get scanned. They can find the perfect shoe between your foot shape and the support it needs. Like helmets, they all fit different.
This!
Then that first pair of shoes you buy there is probably going to be $150 or more. But now that I know what shoes fit me (Brooks Adrenaline GTS in my case), I buy them when they put last year’s model on sale.

This.
Go to a running store and have them tell you what shoes fit you feet best @Cherokeekid88
I'm an Altra zero drop shoe wearer myself.
There's a Fleet Feet at 2762 Highway 68 N, High Point, NC 27265
Another vote for fleet feet, also an Altra fan here, but these are my running shoes.

As a side note (and I maybe an outlier), I have found my pair of redwings to actually be the pair of shoes that helps with my backpain the most (herniated L3/L4). People really into shoes will tell you it is hard to beat a cork insole....I would caution you that the first couple of weeks with these shoes was just wearing them in the house until they were comfortable, now I wish i had a few more pairs. For backpain, it is hard to overstate the importance of a foam roller for your back, hips, and thighs. All of these muscles are constantly fighting to take up the extra load that your back cannot manage.

my on clouds squeak and my kids aren’t mature enough for it haha 😆 I think what I like best about them is they are so light weight. I wear shoes and boots out quick and the on clouds have lasted

This ... again. I had my feet scanned (not at fleet feet) and having someone that knows what they're doing provide recommendations was huge. I went with Hokas for walking and added insoles to my Ariat boots (chair shiner / office type so I'm not on my feet THAT much). Just the correct insoles made a dramatic difference.

Sounds like a plan. I just recently bought a foam roller as well, which has been great. Im gonna try some different options.

My carolina work boots are the most comfortable shoes I've worn. Wear em all day most of the time, whether I'm at work or not.

Saucony trail shoes but only with the comfort fit insoles. I’ve tried to wear them out for 3 years and they still look great. They’re like $165 but by far the best shoes I’ve ever owned.

Lems and Altras here. Your feet weren't designed to wear shoes.

Man I thought this thread would be about drugs

My wife loves On clouds. I have a pair too, but I can wear any shoes.

I've never heard of Hokas

every pair of on clouds I’ve owned squeaks, including my current pair.

I only wear them while rucking and walking the dog. Otherwise I’m barefoot, in sperrys, or in muck boots

On cloud cloud monster og per fleet foot.

Slight thread hijack but probably relevant for several on here.

Is there a place like fleet feet for boots? If I have clothes on, I'm wearing boots. My boots are the most comfortable ones I've ever found, but I assume people think the same about their shoes, before visiting fleet feet.

I did buy some oofos after @CasterTroy scrutinized my beach footwear a few years ago. I love them but I only wear them around the house in the evenings as I wind down or when I'm at the beach.

You can go to a running store and see what kind of show/boot fits your foot best. Zero drop, +2, -1, etc
Then cross reference that on boot manufacturer website. I did that and ended up with Ariat steel toe boots.

My feet used to kill me. I switched over to a minimalist shoe with a wide toe box and couldn’t be happier. Feels like you’re barefoot but without everything poking your feet. They’re Merrill trail vapors. I’m on my feet all day and I’m good. They’re only 80 to 90 bucks too.

I have noticed that I walk on the inside of my feet (overpronation?) and can tell by my current pair of Cole Haan's that I am wearing a hole on the inside right in front of my heel in the sole of the shoe.

I read this title the first time and didn’t click in here because I saw “cloud” and what I thought was “hookah” and thought it was a thread about smoking and I don’t smoke

onClouds wear out fast for me.

they are super light and comfortable for a while but I seem to wear them out or rip the soles easily

Crocs. Only kind of shoes needed. /thread
