Random pic thread.

Always a good day at the office when I’m not stuck at my desk. Had to use our lathe as a “turn-mill” machine haha (boring bar wasn’t big enough for the needed reach)

Even stalled it out twice haha. That lathe had never been worked that hard in its life. Took the ID of that aluminum chunk from 3” to 4.5” and made a big ol mess! This was actually after we started cleaning up, and I was putting the birdnests in the bin as I went so the bulk of the material was already handled.

Sweet haul at the dump today

Then, as I was digging out the wrenches, I saw with my little eye what looked like a real old double barrel action. Sure as heck it was. Got to looking at it and thought to myself, how awesome would it be to find the barrel too?! I looked all around where the action was with no luck. As I walked to the front of the dumpster I kept looking and BINGO! Coolest dump find I've ever had. The right hammer and trigger still function. Quick Google says it's a late 18/early 1900s Belgium made. H. Pieper 12ga. Nothing special, but neat to find. Some dead old dudes loser lib grandkid probably tossed it because guns are icky.

After a copious amount of wd40, I have both hammers freed up. The right side will cock and hold great, the left still needs a little work. Either the little paw on the hammer is worn or there is still too much rust on the corner of the spring piece that it catches on, you have to hold your mouth right to get it to catch well. I really wish I could find a stock and foregrip. The Internet is pretty slim on info/parts for this gun.

He put it away in a super safe place. It is just so safe even he forgot where it is

Duane
If its like us his puttin away place has to be about full cause we never remember where that place is.

You look so much younger and friendlier. I mean, don't get me wrong, you still look like a grumpy old ass, but less wise. :flipoff2:

As my wife would say, I had a "play date" at a friends house yesterday:

5hrs of riding dirtbikes on rough, rocky, rooty, steep, off camber terrain, with bits of interspersed creeksand. Then ripped around on the SXS for about an hour as it was getting dark. Needless to say, I was exhausted last night. But no real crashes, just one low speed frontend washout on an offcamber downhill. Twas a good day.

And you didn't have to use your AK
