The end of an era (A thread no one asked for)

I sold my ZJ soon after my oldest daughter was born, because “life”. I still regret that decision, I love the TJ, and crazy to think I have had for 10 years maybe. But I do keep vehicles a long time as well, had the ole dodge V10 since 2008
I don’t keep vehicles, and generally don’t regret selling any of them either. This will be the exception I’m sure.

12yr old jeepinmattjr "Hey dad, remember when you had that cool yellow jeep? I wish you still had it instead of this gay Tesla ranger"

12yrold wheelterdjr "hey dad, remember that cool yellow jeep you thought about buying but wouldn't because you are a cheap ass? That would have been fun to have"
My first vehicle was a 76 CJ7 that we bought from my neighbor. I sold it to buy the TJ because I was a dumb teenager it was “safer” (that was just a ploy to convince my mom to allow it) and it was newer and bright yellow. I then proceeded to make the TJ drive like a CJ and be covered in mud all the time.

And??

I regret almost every Jeep I've sold, I'm a Jeep hoarder by nature so I guess that comes naturally.
But like I told my daughter once, at the end of the day it's just stuff and stuff comes and goes as needed or wanted.
Friends and family are way more important. Good luck and I hope the Jeep Spark finds you again at the right time.

After we talked in depth about your TJ build stages, build mistakes, horse trades, etc while we wheeling bros (so homo) at the Ranch last month...you made the right decision.
On to new projects and freed up $$$.
We've all bought, mild built, over built, regretted and reassessed.
Solid XJ build that is 100% driveable is a good option

I still wish I'd kept that $30xj just to have something to continually beat on w/o care, but I also know it would have just become an albatross of work and a constant fight over space.

I've had my 4runner since '02, longer than any kids. Despite it getting rare use my daughter is in love w/ it and recognizes the cool factor, and told me in no uncertain terms if I get rid of it before she can enjoy it then I forfeit my right to walk her down the aisle. So I guess it stays ;-).

I quit wheeling when our oldest was born. Still have the ZJ but it hasn't moved in 7 years... Also still have the waggy sitting in weeds.

Like any transplant donor, the organs live on in others. @jeepinmatt Your 8274 and mounting plate and hoop are happily doing nothing on the front of my TJ for probably 10 years now. Not going anywhere.

Dang, that makes me happy! Put a 2” bodylift on that jeep and the headlights will come back into the middle of the Mickey Mouse ears haha!

Street bikes are the devil

Every female driving pays more attention to their phone than the road. They gonna kill you!!

Buy a 2-smoke 300 instead and join us at brushy 🤘🏿

Agree about street bikes as I get elderly. I'm pretty sure his gas gas qualifies for brushy if he still owns it.
Elderly. NiNJA PLEASE!!.

you're still 20yrs younger than me

That said...I got $20 I'm faster-n-you 😘

That was a Beta, and no, that was like 3 or 4 dirtbikes ago haha! But I still have the CRF230 which is the rough terrain scalpel, and the Alta EXR electric, which accelerates so hard it honestly makes the FZ09 feel boring.

@jeepinmatt

You should upgrade to a Toyota and relish on the dark side.

On a side note, I miss my 350 powered commando and the bitchin TJ that @superpile got. In the end, it’s just stuff and family and life outweigh any rig. No regerts and keep moving forward.

That said… I’ll never part with my current Toyota pile. If I did my son will hate me forever.

That's my elderly brain for ya. All I know is it went "ring ding ding ding" and was a lot of fun to rip around your trails.

20 years?lol Maybe mentally (still early 20s in the brain) but I'm pretty sure there isn't 3 years between us. As for faster, I can't argue. No bet there. I was never awesome on dirt.
