It's becoming abundantly clear I'll never do a York OBA conversion or any other set up from viair or ARB, etc. Quite frankly, after 15 years, I've never really needed it (I know better to have and not need, than need and not have...and I'm obviously not wheeling hard enough). I have a 60 gallon compressor in my garage, but for the times I just need to top off, or ignore that slow leak or have a flat in the storage building, etc etc...would be nice to have something hand held. My little brother got on a kick of some off brand $15 unit (including battery) he found at Aldi's, been using it on mower/trailer tires, and swears by it. Personally, I'd go for something a little stouter, all my other cordless stuff is Milwaukee, so that's what I got looking at...they only have a 12v option at the moment. A couple others have some options as well, but looking to see if anyone has one of these contraptions, if it's been handy, or better in theory than practice.

I have the M12, love it for small jobs around the house like bikes, 4wheelers, pool floats. Never tried it on a full size flat tire but I have no doubt it would do the job. Also helps I also have the 1/4 and 3/8 electric ratch and the 1/4 impact and the Bluetooth speaker. I have plenty of batterys and chargers for it. It also has all the tips for the hoses nicely stored on the back of it.

These would be perfect for making fart porn.

But seriously, these are awesome. I'll be buying one as soon as possible.

MV50 super flow.

My Viair compressor is all right. It doesn't move as much air as the Chinese one, though.

I have this compressor and it pulls duty on the wheelbarrow tires, footballs/volleyballs, etc as well as goes on road trips with me. Not the fastest in full sized tires but definitely gets the job done well enough

I've got this guy. Kobalt 12-Volt Car Air Inflator Model#0292215 USED | eBay

Its 12v. I've had it for 5+yrs and use it on everything. Small enough to stick in the atv box and ride. Set the pressure you want and let it eat. Not super fast but fast enough. Not sure about the newer versions though.

I don't really consider anything other than VIAIR for stuff like that. I'm thinking about frame mounting a direct to battery compressor on my 2WD only-sees-pavement pickup, just because I'm the person everyone asks to check their tire pressure. Or I'm the only person that notices that their tires are visibly under-inflated... Hmmm, maybe I'm the source of my own problems....

This is what I bought and it seems to do really well so far. I have only used it twice but it airs up the tires on two vehicles really fast and its nice and self contained. I am sure you could make one if you bought a good quality compressor but for the price of this setup ready to go, it wasnt worth my fooling with it.

I've got $20 says that's an MV50 super flow in an ammo can. That's sure as shit what it looks like.

But but but tactical!!! haha.

I've got an MV50 that I love and have put lots of use on, but those bastards get hot! Mounting it in an ammo can would be a sure way to shorten its life expectancy, maybe add a cooling fan or something if that's the case.

If its not the exact one, its probably really close cause it is made by Q Industries just like the MV50 is. Not sure if you were saying it was bad because of that or not, but it has been working really well for me. The MV50 is $73.95 right now (says normally $89.99 but I bet the sale is often if not all the time) on Amazon here https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...&tag=httpwwwimmedc-20&linkId=RZL52HNO7NE2I2B7 . The M240 is only $129.99 right now and comes with a better hose and the other accessories in my opinion and is still a sight cheaper than some compressors out there. Like I said, you could make one just like this, but for me it wasnt worth the time and money since its not that much to buy it ready to go. If I already had and ammo can that size, I may have went a different route.

Bringing this thread back to life.

I'm looking for something to inflate trailer tires mostly. trail rig typically is trailered so unless we have a flat no need to air up at the end of the day.
Considering
Viair, Milwaukee M18 inflator, (already have a ton of red batteries) Harbor Freight Fortress 2gal (if my 110 bed outlet will handle the draw)
Any current experiences thought or recommendations?

Been using the Dewalt flavor 18v (labeled as 20v) for a while. Love it for most things. Set and walk away.

BUT after last years beach trip, after 2 hrs and three batteries, and watching Ken @BRUISER air up all four tires in about 5 min. I’ve sucked it up and gone Morrflate. Both their 4-way hose kit and their 5.6 CFM compressor. I’m sure it’s Chinese sourced but they’ve had it built to their specs. They sell a 10.6 dual piston compressor but they don’t recommend that for less than two tires at once. Figure I’ll leave the Dewalt behind and just carry the one.

Consistent pressures on all four tires, not just truck but camper, I’m looking forward to. Has same set and walk away feature. Will use for manual air bags too. Can deflate too but I’ve got separate deflators already.

$$$ but for what I’ve got in the equipment it’s reasonable.

If you already have M18 stuff, hard to argue with that route. I've never used one of the Milwaukee ones, so I don't have any experience with that. But I have a Viair 450 in both trucks, and while its nice, its a pain to have to pop the hood and connect the clamps to the battery and string everything out. Plus its big and heavy and takes up a decent amount of cargo space. It was able to take my 2500 tires from 50psi to 75psi in about 4-5 minutes each when I needed it a few weeks ago, but nothing super impressive. I spent another 3-4 minutes unpacking everything, and another 3-4 minutes packing everything back up, so if the M18 unit is simpler to use and faster to deploy, the additional speed of the Viair unit is a wash.
