1000

Just fyi...while we are picking on ben...my 72" scag weighs 1,700 lbs...you must have a huge zero turn weighing 3k/each.

I'm still waiting for the dyno slip for your 750hp na 300 i6.....

So are we...follow the page for updates...it’s in response to that 600+hp N/A claim in that video that was going viral a couple months back, with the diced up 351C Head.

Seriously though, has anybody in this thread driven a 6.7L Ford or Aisin-equipped Ram? It sounds like no...?

Hitch up 18k pounds and set the cruise at 70. The truck takes care of the rest. If I have a complaint, it's that they're boring to drive.
Yes one of our work trucks is an Aisin equipped Ram. Set the cruise and forget about it.

Like I said, there are inherent factory weaknesses. I don't typically buy in to the 'doesn't matter who built it' justification...our race shop is making a name for itself on 'stuff that can't be done' and quieting internet folklore. It doesn't always make it financially prudent, but to say something is incapable, meh.

That's just a quick shot of one of the tractors up at the property this weekend. And who the hell is towing 26k daily??? Hauling heavy equipment from job to job?
We have 4 trucks hauling chickens daily that surpass that weight.

My apologies, I didn't realize I had to write out my business plan for you guys to believe an auto transmission could handle towing. I'll be sure to start crossing scales with fully documented pics, just for NC4x4 in the future.
.

You sorta teed it up when you post pics of trucks pulling trailers that I'd pull with my wife's beater Honda Element...of course it's a 5speed too. I can only speak from my 29 year experience in Automotive repair, am I an expert in truck transmissions? No, but I've owned lots of trucks, manual, auto's and towed many hundreds of thousand miles. I've overheated/cooked several automatics, I've bought a couple mid-trip that shat the bed, it is extremely pricey and inconvenient. I'd love to have an auto that was as durable as a proven 6spd. There may be one in production now but it's probably new enough and in a truck that I'm not prepared to pay what it's "worth" as of yet. Maybe in 10 years when it's affordable. This is more of the type towing I was referring to.

All good. I’m just not taking pics while driving/working...and don’t often do poser pics, so I used what I had. And my only point about the auto trans bashing is, it’s only as good as you make it. Yeah, a manual trans will be a cheaper rebuild, but a rebuild nonetheless. A transmission is like anything else in the automotive world. You don’t break an axle and say it’s trash, you build it to a more appropriate level for the use, same with the trans. Like I said...we do 1000hp/1000tq engines all the time in various applications...we don’t just throw up our hands and say, welp the internet says it’s trash, guess you just get a shiny engine. Like I said previously, we deal with 1000ft/lbs all the time, we don’t just throw our hands up and say, welp guess you can only operate at half throttle.

So you work landscape? I thought you brother or something like that had a landscape company you invested in? I thought you are some M&A guy? How many jobs do you work, lol.

Back in 2006 when I was shopping for my first deisel truck, it was widely accepted that autos would fail prematurely and a manual was the preferred choice for longevity. Maybe autos have improved since then?

They have, but still if you don't treat a manual correctly or do maintenance like you should it will fail prematurely also.
There are plenty of older 4spd autos that have lasted 2 and 300k miles with no issues because of good maintenance. I have had 2 of those such transmissions in my personal trucks.

I do a lot. Landscape started 10 years ago with my brother we had a $100 craftsman mower, a lawn trailer and pressure washer. I’ve moved more to admin and financial backing, but still get out from time to time. I’m also a partner/CFO/COO in a small pharma company. I’m also CFO/partner in a race shop. I also dabble in career/small business consultation. And for even more, I’m looking at buying a local hot dog joint and I’m eyeballing 20,000 sq/ft to get into the indoor vehicle storage game. I’ve gotten lucky, don’t sleep much and I like money...so it works. Edit...have you seen the show ‘The Profit’...that’s my goal.

It's adorable to listen to all y'all talking about where shift points ought to be.

Anybody that actually owns a Cummins knows you just put it in 6 and hammer down.

Last 1000+hp Cummins I had I'd start off in 6th, or 8th if I was empty :), and not once did I EVER push in a clutch pedal.

Its funny all these people talking about controlling shift points and all with their manual and have automatics in their trail rigs.

Shots fired

Isn't there a kiddie forum for people with gas powered, auto shifted tow rigs that haul V6 powered buggies?

Asking for a friend. :)

I have a 4r100 w 311 K on it and outside of a valve body upgrade and reg service its never been touched.

Do...you eluding to the thread with windowlickers that don’t like being called windowlickers and getting trolled? Or is there something else I should google?
