So I figured I would resurrect this old build I got a couple projects on spinecrusher about to start ill be dropping a 400 with mild cam and edlebrock intake hedman headers, I got 90' of 1.75x.120 wall dom for my exo cage its not enough to complete it but I gota get some rollover protection before I wreck my junk to bad the big hold up is I need my doubler before I start messing with anthony else once I get the doubler installed ill have to remake some crossmembers cut some drive shafts then drop the motor and route some exhaust then its caging time ill post a couple pics of the motor
Here my latest little project I added rock lights, reverse lights ,fuel cutoff switch, and dome override switches.
heres my reverse lights all my rock/reverse lights are tractor lights with trapezoidal beam pattern
rock lights mounted high on the frame aimed at the tire contact patch
my added switches the bottom left toggle is reverse lights, bottom right is rocklights the red covered toggle is my fuel shutoff the reason I need the the fuel switch is when im strapped into my harness I can't reach the ignition switch in case I roll over I wanted to be able to shut off the truck once I flip the switch about 3a seconds later it cuts off
I just wana say thanks to my friends that helped with this little project Kodie and as always timc without u every thing on this truck would be wired with no switches (a upside down residential light switch)
I know man I've russled up the cash now im thrashing to get a couple projects done for the trip only major variable left is my daughter if she isn't born before the trip Wifey wont let me go but ill probly go anyway thanks for the compliment looking forward to wheeling with y'all this year in harlan
So I got distracted for a couple weeks playing with my new to me 67 cougar wich im very excited about I have wanted one for over 10 years and missed a couple good deals but this time the planets aligned I had the cash the car was right now thier is another project in the yard but enough about that let's show y'all some exo progress im busting hump to get ready for grand slam southeast in harlan Kentucky
i love it!!!!!! im tryin to get my dad to give me his 79 f150 long bed. its 2x4 but i got some dreams drawn up big block, tons, bobbed, exo cage. things like that.but we shall see if he gives it to me. either way bad ass truck man keep up the great work and i wanna see some videos if u got any!
Here's a couple recent projects View attachment 53427View attachment 53428View attachment 53429View attachment 53430this is a junkyard automatic fan controller made from a Volvo fan relay and bmw three prong temp sender I can't take credit for wiring it up that goes to Tim and I believe the instructions are on pirate but it controls both speeds of my Thunderbird fan turning low on at around 210and high at 225 I think but im not certain View attachment 53431View attachment 53432 the other project is my ultra custom second battery mount my first battery is located in the toolbox I discovered while in harlan that if I have to idle and winch for very long my charging system can't keep up and the voltage will drop the computer will not have sufficient power to run the truck and she cuts off wich led to a very crappy day on mason jar in the rain
Well I got the 400 motor dropped in with some hedman headers performer intake and all I can say is holy crap compared to the old motor it feels like a rocket ship about to blast off to the moon son its crazy and by no means actually fast but it does accelerate up hills its a night and day difference compared to the old 351m now I gota tend to some leaks from the motor sitting too long and I probly wont make another run this year but opening day next april were coming out swinging
I rebuilt the trans crossmember to facilitate easier install of exhaust and in preparation for my doubler install me and timc then made up some simple dual exhaust with crossover that side exits near the rockrail in front of the tire
