New paint fixes everything
Not happy with the aluminum oxide media, I believe it’s too abrasive. Have to get some glass tomorrow.
Glass bead is the way to go.
Axle is trussed and armored. Hubs renovated. Waiting on hi-pinion diff to get the axle buttoned up.
Bought one already? Because I’ve got one for sale...
Was waiting on a gift card to order. Tell me about the one you have for sale. If it worth while I may consider the one you have for sale.
Ahh I see now. At 850 it would cost more for me to buy yours and change to 4.88 + ARB locker than just order a loaded one. It‘s not a bad deal you have just not ideal for me.
No big deal. I’m just fishing for a buyer. I don’t wanna tear it apart, but I might could be persuaded. What would you offer me for just the housing?
The way the few gift cards have come from Christmas, I’m kind of stuck with purchasing a loaded diff from one of the big retailers. Greatfull for the gift cards, it just pins you in a corner a little bit when it’s the only thing you need from that place.
Hubs and knuckles back together.
it's coming along well
A dry fit makes me think I’ve got some clearancing to do on the housing to get this thing to fit. The bearing caps and ring gear are larger on this diff versus the 4cyl diff. Anyone have experience with that?
Took a few hours today to find the right combination of shims to achieve 15lbs preload. .0320” was the shim stack that made it happen.
Done. Need recommendations on a fabricator who can do the swap and has experience with it.
If you are a competent welder it’s pretty straight forward. Can do it easily in a weekend.
I wish I was.
I’m set up with NTK Fabworks to start cutting in April.
Stopping power will be good. V6 calipers with ceramic pads.
Need some longer shackles on the rear. Looks worse than it really is because it’s parked on a slope.
Full lock in progress. Ckma12 was not going to fit without some crazy wizardry so I used the smaller cksa12 compressor. No worries, I can just use my portable compressor for filling tires.
Phase one complete.
Got lots more down travel, about 1.5” more up travel.
Works well with a front driveshaft.
Man that makes me want another Yota, looks really clean.
