A little more...


Got the X behind the fuel cell in. Started on the slender double-X on the belt bars to rear bumper.

I really like the look of the slender-X with the slight kick from the back. But I'm not sure if I like the side profile. Couple comparison pics.

I like the bent leg. I like that slight kick up in the side view behind the tire. Reminds me mentally of a trophy truck rear glass that has a high rear "hip".

To me also looks better when viewed from rear as it Mirrors the front half of that X better.

Or

Edit: put a bend in the front half, and use the straight leg at the back.

This would make the front half of both have a bend, while the rear of both legs straight.

I know, that doesn't help at all.

Yea I like it to from the rear. I think I just need to do some tweaking to the angle or clocking of the bend to be just as fond of it from the side.

After getting the mating tube notched, I think I'm going to stay with the kicked tube.

I had also intended a purpose for the kick in bedside attachment. Also in future modifications, I'm trying to incorporate things that we'll make it easier to do something like this...

At this point, this truck doesn't know what it wants to be when it grows up. Is it a TT, Ultra 4, crawler, sleeper door slammer.....hell I don't even know...

bead rolling some alloy panels will look sweet! I dig the kicked up rear corner tube. Looks sweet.
 
Went with the original kick. It looks great from 359 different angles...and it will spend most of its life covered by bedsides. Also got the spreader behind the radiator in and one roof bar done.

The blue tape? Yes I have been considering it. Not much roll, just very slightly. The truck is so square, I haven't made up my mind yet. There will also be some plate work in the opening for shock mount, and remote fuel fill.

Yes the blue tape, I am guessing that most of that tube will be visible with the skins on
